i was lucky to be able to hit shows from mid 70's thru till late 80's... I never actually followed like these guys, but went to as many as i could within a certain radius.college, then a good job, then a family came quick. I like watcing the experience of others, it's awesome. So now in my 50's i am back to being able to actually travel round to get to my "love of all things music"..and i'm having the time of my life again :) would'nt trade my "long strange trip", for anything ~ lol !!

Hmm, they really went out of their way to find the most wasted characters. I went to every Dead show at Alpine from 1984 on. The last time they played there was 1989, and there was heavy rain all through the 2nd and 3rd days. This has to be older than that, and 1988 was a terrible heatwave/drought, which doesn't look like the video either.

so it's like, every time you take drugs, if you don't know how to make drugs, you're looking up, to the people who make drugs. but what if you don't like it? what does that tell you? it's a decision, a lot of things are, so then you get into the zone of decisions, and there are a lot of people there. this is where there's hearsay, confusion, lies, stories get changed, truth gets concealed, etc. so you look up again, but there's all that zone between you and the knowledge. its hard to solve

The cartoon version, trying really hard to get it..misses it completely. This young lady is the one that always appeared ,somehow from nowhere, in front of you. At all the later shows, despite all your efforts just to enjoy yourself, with the music and all it had to offered and informed, then there she would be ..she, and others, desperate to bring the attention themselves and her new found identity. Sad , to remember the takers not all the givers.

Did you intentionally look for the idiots at Dead shows? Because you found them. The Dead were successful for so many years because of their music. Most Deadheads did not lay around in tents, selling drugs, never actually going into a show . We reveled in the most creative, inspiring music ever made. And YES, there are certainly "hippie posers". They "except" everyone. But accept few.

I met more honest, sincere and intelligent people on tour than I have in my mainstream professional career. Not everyone was well-intentioned, especially toward the end, but you will never encounter a more loving cross-section of humanity.

The cartoon version, trying really hard to get it..misses it completely. This young lady is the one that always appeared ,somehow from nowhere, in front of you. At all the later shows, despite all your efforts just to enjoy yourself, with the music and all it had to offered and informed, then there she would be ..she, and others, desperate to bring the attention themselves and her new found identity. Sad , to remember the takers not all the givers.

Did you intentionally look for the idiots at Dead shows? Because you found them. The Dead were successful for so many years because of their music. Most Deadheads did not lay around in tents, selling drugs, never actually going into a show . We reveled in the most creative, inspiring music ever made. And YES, there are certainly "hippie posers". They "except" everyone. But accept few.
