Too bad she wasn't on the 2004 Olympic team. Honestly, IMO, if she had been, she would've helped win U.S.A.'s 2nd Olympic gold medal, hands down. IMO.
I love her gymnastics. Such a great routine. I just wish she and every other gymnast would REMOVE Illusion Turns from beam routines. I have never seen one performed that wasn't followed by at least a small balance check.
I know that the front tuck with a half is difficult and unique, but it sure is ugly. Great gymnastics is about taking the exceptional and making it look simple and effortless.
Thats what I like to see..developing original moves and personality during the routine...tough skills...grace..she did a great job...most gymnast don't innovate anymore beised the Russians and a select few from other nations
Chellsie is by far one of the best gymnasts ever. Okay, she doesn't have the most world or Olympic Medals, but with her multiple injuries to near full recoveries, she is amazing. Most of all, with her incredible toughness, she has to be one of the top five best gymnasts.
I doubt she still has the same flexibility now. I do love this routine; its very staccato; skill...wave arms flick wrist...skill..wave arms flick wrists...but the elements themselves are amazing:)
I love Chellsie! I used to hate her (lack of) polish and elegance, but I couldn't help but admire her mental toughness and her consistency! She's a true competitor!
She has her own style. She has polish, elegance, and confidence. You can see it in the way she carries herself throughout her performances. Chellsie is a true champion in every way!
I couldn't agree more! I can still remember her performance at the 2006 Worlds. The way she came back after a fall from the UB (watch her save on the front tuck where she practically landed on one foot! A lesser gymnast would have fallen off) was nothing short of amazing. You've GOT to love her fighting spirit!
I love watching Chellsie for her extreme difficulty on every event. When she does all those skills I can somewhat overlook the form at times... although it has regressed in recent years.
i've noticed that she likes to flick her fingers or whatever you call that right after an element. it seems okay at first, but as you finish watching the whole beam routine it kinda gets annoying.
Chellsie wasn't my favorite gymnast back then, but damn! What a great performance at those worlds from an alternate! Probably the best rookie performance of any U.S. athlete!
