  • Way too much going on in this system, its bulky, looks...well hard to figure out. An Atc guide or similar style device is much more efficient, simple, and is time tested. and you dont have to find the right size biner to use the device.. just sayin

  • " . . . and go figure out why the rope is too short."

  • What I wanna know is, who makes the gold carabiner used to attach the ATS to your climbing harness? It's a squeeze to get a carabiner into that hole, specially with the rubber gasket/o-ring in there. Can anyone help... maybe include a link to the specific carabiner so I can find it on backcountry or rei, etc? Thanks!! :)

Also, if you know the name/brand of the silver carabiner used to capture the loop through the ATS, that would help too!!

  • @glovedhands1 If i recall, the gold biner its a petzel attache carabiner with screw lock. The big silver one looks like a black diamond rocklock screwgate. Typical large carabiner. it doesn't have to be that particular one.. as long as its a larger biner.

  • Is this technique effective on double strand as well?

  • Way too gear intensive and cumbersome set up. A Gri-Gri would eliminate that tangled mess and save time... If you really want to see effecient ascending and decending on one device. Check out the "Unicender."

  • @jampmayer Gear intensive? I think you mean technique intensive. Your method of a Gri-Gri or Unicender would be more properly classified as gear intensive. All the bits used in the video are usually already on rappel, especially for canyoneers like me. Hence this is a less gear intensive method. Unless you're uncomfortable learning and understanding rope technique, this is better than hauling yet another device that can be dropped or become non-functional.

  • Woohoo jtree!

  • i dont rock climb but that was very nice have to learn that one day lol always wanting to learn more when it comes to my life .Oh yeah iam just an tree climber thanks again for the video
