Science is simply not suitable to answer religious claims, and on top of the criticism of the Gödel's incompleteness theorems, I think religion STAYS IN to give POSSIBLE answers to what reality "really" is! There ARE deep limitations to the (conduct of) science and Dawkins should be well aware of them!
Insofar as (all of) science can be accommodated by the religious person, there should be NO problem! There are many interpretations of the Bible, the Quran, the Torah, the Vedas and so on... Interpretation is half the "game"! Regardless, then, this depends on the individual religious person and to the extent they take part in _dogmatic_ beliefs, NONE of which are formally demanded to be held, I think... Then it's the acid rule for religious people, science INTO religion and NOT the other way!:-D
Dennett is on the losing end of evolution. Religion will survive in greater numbers than atheism. Demographics are what matters and religion has it in spades. To a Darwinist, truth is irrelevant whether they admit it or not.
@mszlazak Dennett isn't a very good debater, but to say he's an idiot is completely absurd. He's one of the most brilliant people I know of. Read his books before you judge.
@Zeuts85 Sorry but I've read some books of his, the first being "Consciousness Explained" and after that I can definitely say he is an idiot. Professional philosophers and his peers consider him shallow and unsystematic.
@mszlazak "Professional philosophers and his peers consider him shallow and unsystematic." Completely untrue. He is largely revered for bringing an unprecedented level of clarity to the nature of consciousness. He and his peers may debate about a many issues, but that's to be expected in science and philosophy.
@mszlazak I expect most of them never will. People seem a lot more inclined to ignore ideas that are labeled stupid by others, and most people read less than 1 book in a year. It's rather a shame how intellectually lazy the average person is.
One interesting example that could be used in support of the Plantinga's position is Dennet's own assertion, which postulates that beliefs of which provide advantageous benefits are likely to be true. Many atheists believe that belief in religion is merely a socio-biological evolutionary behavior, that is to say, it's advantageous. The atheistic view would then support the truth of religion, however, atheists believe religion is false despite this fact, which would support Plantinga's assertion.
true empirical science is in perfect agreement with the Bible. It is the corporate controlled junk no evidence, only theory science that is in complete discord. Our world is run by evil men who hate the Bible and Jesus with a passion and there is no end to how far the devil will go to deceive God's children.
damn poor sound quality.

@Zeuts85 I guess we'll have to let folks research that and see for themselves.

@mszlazak Lol, actually he's considered an "eminent" philosopher. He's not a great debater, but to say he's not respected is a bit ignorant.

@yehyehyeh I imagine yours is stealing a witless quip from a failed mathematician and mountebank.
The beard is decidedly more impressive.
