I have to be quite honest and say this is my least favorite subject in the Bible. I am an educated, independent woman and I don't want any man "leading" me. I have been leading myself just fine. Men have screwed up the world and have dominated women for far too long. I submit to Christ and his intentions for me but I don't believe any man will ever be worthy to have my submission. Actually Ann, you should be careful about the assertion that the will of the Son and Father "are the same." That could be meant and taken in a heretical sense.

To say that the Father and Son have the same (as in a single) will is Monothelitism. The will of the Son is distinct from the will of the Father.

Just as a wife's will (helas!) is distinct, seperate from her husband's.

Men usually take the lead, of course. This is because in the past women have not been allowed to means or opportunities to do so. Why? Because back in B.C., if a woman tried to take charge, no matter how wise she was, a man beat her to death and took over (I will not be the last to admit that men are naturally physically stronger). Interesting, I mostly agree. Submission is about the role of submission, not inferiority. The husband and wife relationship is a model God designed and intended right from the beginning in Genesis.

Submission in the trinity is not based on agreeing on everything ("having the same will") We can see this in the prayer of Jesus in Getsemane:

Mark 13:36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

Submission would not even be submission if it didn't involve actual yielding to another's will event when it is "not what I will".
