I have not only been to air shows, I have flown in them. This is a loop, and not at all impossible to do in formation. Perhaps you have never seen the Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, or any other air show team. Perhaps you have never seen a real airplane? LMAO

no, a barell roll is aiming your planes nose on the horizon line and elavatoring the pitch whilst rolling,
they are simply doing cross over loops!

Technically, that was a loop, not a barrel roll, but it was awesome! Doing it with one inverted and one not and that close together, wow! Incredible!

I have flown in them, if you have done that, you have to no that its a barrel roll,
You consider a barrel roll as a single plane turning over his horizontal axis.
If you do that in formation, it isnt pretty if every plane is turning over his own horizontal axis.

In formation, you will turn around the axis of number 1 and 2, but in jets its simply impossible to do that while staying at the same altitude.
maybe you have to watch a vid of blue angels and thunderbirds performing a barrel roll.
