  • Home owners Fault 100%, i thought was just a deck that was messed up until i seen the rest of video

#1- homeowner has to see and get a few references

#2- licenses and insurance of contractor and those who are doing electrical, plumbing, hvac.

#3-Homeowner duty to obtain a Permit if a drawing is needed then the homeowner has to find a architect engineering firm or ask the contractor to refer one

when ever i see shitty work like this i know the homeowner don't want to pay the going rate

  • fucking hell! shottiest work ever seen! why even put up railing that flimsy, I bet if you walked to the other side of that deck the thing would tip over, I hope the contractor had the common decency to take the home owners on a date before fucking em this hard.

  • WTF did this guy goto the local homo depot for a furnace filter and decided to become a contractor after reading the first chapter of a diy book at the cheak out counter.

  • it was your local government who gave him the license or inspected the unit. Why not take this up with your local building inspector or licensing board?

  • @dbates23114 - it was done without permits- that is when we stepped in to work with the township building department (by getting permits and inspections) and help the homeowners that were fooled by a bad contractor!

  • look at the cantilever lol. poor people payed for this

  • I am not a contractor, but , I've been in the business of home renovation for the last 18 years and I always told myself "When in doubt, ask a pro"...When I do some renovations, the boss always chew me up for over doing it. I love perfection. It could be a million dollars house or an old farm house, it has to look like that job is worth more than what the customer paid for...and the most important is if I see some structural damage or if I break something...I will tell...no cover-up needed...

  • must of got a great quote...

  • In Singapore you dont need a license!! My family had the misfortune of going to Glenn Theseira (5 Pisang Raja, Singapore 597737)construction and got a terrible job and he also cheated his 2 partners leaving us in the dark. Unfortunately we learn from his partners that he gotten sack from a previous company and shortchanged some people along the way to live a very nice lifestyle!! Too late for us. He's driving a nice german car today.

  • I love how anyone can call themselves a "contractor". First off, your not a contractor unless you posess the proper license. We all bitch at inspections and inspectors, but here is a perfect example of the need. As an electrical contractor for over 26 years, I've seen many examples of moronic practice. I blame the idiots that do it, but also the home owners that try to beat down down legit contractors on pricing. You get what you pay for folks.

  • Gosh, just taking a look at that, I can see that the supporting posts are WAY too SMALL and that was the first thing I saw wrong.

  • that is awesome. man I had a house fix and it was nearly as bad as that. Should have used a camera!

  • Maybe this is discount work?

  • first off, the deck was bad, psts 2 smll, no flashing, no ldgr, but you say tikos are upside dwn( tikos are the nails)the hngers are upside dwn so that the dwnwrd wght of the cntlvr ds nt lift at the house, i hv sn HANGERS upside dwn many times for that reason, you say max. cntlvr is 24(bullshit), the deck is built as a freestanding deck because there is only about 4 inches of available area for ledger, thus the scnd st of bms/psts. Overall definately a hack-a-jack job. The tikos upside dwn!lol

  • @jason7660 why would you say that Jason? Or are you referring to the contractor that butchered this home? I see that you claim to be a contractor as well...Hmmm..Birds of a feather.....?

  • You have got to have the biggest balls. I can't believe you stepped on that deck! It didn't seem to be attached to the house. I hope you reported his ass.

  • Now THAT's a nightmare house! You also forgot to mention that he used PVC instead of CPVC for the washing machine lines. I almost did that on my house -- good thing the plumber corrected me!

  • I cant believe some contractors or so called contractors.

  • GERTFILMAKER, Im getting ready to upload my disaster deck video. I'll send you the link. I feel your pain my friend.

  • So did you choke him, sue him, report him to the contractor's board or all of the above? I feel your pain. Built a house and dug a pond for fill. Resulted in 3 lawsuits and 3 years of legal bills and stress, not to mention physical threats against me by these jerks. I've dicovered that good contractors do exist, only they are VERY rare. The bad ones can die in horrible deck collapses for all I care.

  • Good grief. How sad. Idiotic!

  • please comment on my video!
