Why did they make King Ghidorah the good guy in this movie? Maybe it's just a different dragon that coincedently looked like Ghidorah, and was given that name.
@godzilla964 Originally Godzilla was slated to face Baragon, Varan, and Anguiras. However, because Toho felt that those monsters weren't as recognizable, Anguiras and Varan got the axe and were replaced with Mothra and Ghidorah. Don't personally see why Anguiras got cut over Baragon since he was much more well known, but that's basically the reason why Ghidorah is "good" in this movie.

@theGanonify Destroyah doesn't beat him. Godzilla dies at the end of GvD because his the nuclear energy in his body is going into a meltdown state and overloading. This was triggered due to a nuclear event on Birth Island before the film starts and is the reason Godzilla appears as Burning Godzilla in that movie. Destroyah inflicts some serious pain on him, but does not beat him.

After KG gets his middle head blown off and nearing death, KG is revived as the cyborg monster known as Mecha King Ghidorah. @XxComablackxX1937 I would like to agree, but considering how many times we've seen Ghidorah on screen in the past 20 years (5, including the Rebirth of Mothra trio), I think he's in danger of becoming overused. Like the Superman movies, where the villains are always Lex Luthor or Zod for some reason, despite there being tons of other baddies for him to fight.
Maybe in a sequel, if the reboot does well (I hope), but not off the bat. Build up to G's greatest enemy.

Remember people, Ghidorah wasn't supposed to be in this movie to begin with. It was originally supposed to be Anguirus and Varan. Mothra and Ghidorah were both shoved into the movie due to their greater popularity.

@glaciusinferno The squid was from another film by Toho studios called Space Amoeba, it's name was Gezora. And I always found it weird that particular game also had MOGUERA from The Mysterians (also by Toho), who wouldn't even be adapted to a Godzilla movie until five years later in Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla. Both MOGUERA and Gezora were also the first two boss fights in the game, and both first appearing on Earth, despite both being aliens (in Gezora's case mutated by aliens).
@NeoSarinatan Also, Varan and Baragon were both in that game, and they were the only two Earthling monsters (not counting Godzilla and Mothra, since they were the main characters) out of an entire cast of space monsters. There was also the weird thing about the maps for Pluto and Uranus seemingly switched while the names stayed the same, but now I'm rambling about petty details nobody cares about. More so than before anyways.

@hothed123412 It really wasn't so much that they wanted to make Godzilla look evil as they wanted more recognizable monsters for him to fight. The original Guardian Monsters were supposed to be Baragon, Anguiras and Varan, but the execs at Toho thought that those three alone weren't well known enough, especially Varan, so they went with Mothra and King Ghidorah as replacements.
@GamingGenius : I thought he was a little small too. His size, and the power level to me were kind of a let down. KG should be at the very least equal in power to Godzilla if not MORE powerful. I know originally they were going to have Varan in that role. I think they should have stuck with that. We've seen KG a billion times and Varan maybe 2 or 3? If there were gonna be disposable monsters in this film I would have gone with Varan, Baragon, and King Seesar.

i personally don't like the continuum of the most recent slew of godzilla movies. i especially don't like what they did with this move in particular, turning the monsters of the old series into guardian spirits. it doesn't make sense. the heisei series was much better.
I thought it was great to put a mythical spin on it. It makes more sense than the Sci-FI origins for these wierd creatures. Look at Ghidorah. He looks like a mythical dragon, not some wierd fusion of little bat thingies- or a giant space alien for that matter. The whole series would probably be more widely accepted if they didn't try to explain everything with pseudo science. I think that is the franchise' s biggest flaw.

GMK or Godzilla vs King Ghidorah 1991... also Mecha-King Ghidorah was pretty cool too.
The ''Final Wars'' design was cool esp the detail on the heads but i didn't care for the fact it had 4 legs.. Give it bigger wings an 2 legs an it would have been amazing.

The movie is good but King Gidorah never shot lightning out of his mouth until the end and really, King Gidorah being a good guy, it should be King Gidorah fighting Godzilla, Mothra and Baragon, but the movie was good anyway.

@hoodontheroof It was more like Ghidorah blasts Godzilla, Godzilla absorbs. Ghidorah gets caught and blasts some more. Godzilla lets out a big beam.
Well they were pretty weak, Ghidorah was affected by a man-made torpedo.

Remember people, Ghidorah wasn't supposed to be in this movie to begin with. It was originally supposed to be Anguirus and Varan. Mothra and Ghidorah were both shoved into the movie due to their greater popularity.

@glaciusinferno The squid was from another film by Toho studios called Space Amoeba, it's name was Gezora. And I always found it weird that particular game also had MOGUERA from The Mysterians (also by Toho), who wouldn't even be adapted to a Godzilla movie until five years later in Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla. Both MOGUERA and Gezora were also the first two boss fights in the game, and both first appearing on Earth, despite both being aliens (in Gezora's case mutated by aliens).

@NeoSarinatan Also, Varan and Baragon were both in that game, and they were the only two Earthling monsters (not counting Godzilla and Mothra, since they were the main characters) out of an entire cast of space monsters. There was also the weird thing about the maps for Pluto and Uranus seemingly switched while the names stayed the same, but now I'm rambling about petty details nobody cares about. More so than before anyways.

I know. I just saw the movie for the first time and I was stunned. But Anguirus and Varan? I mean, I love "Godzilla Raids Again" - but that just wouldn't have had the same impact. Don't you agree? Ghidorah and Mothra are much more "mythical". IMHO.

I refuse to count the Ghidorah in this movie as close to the epicness of the world-destroying Ghidorah's.
Of course, this one is cool in it's own way. An immature Yamata-no-Orochi.

actually your wrong sorry because it was like a another spin off sequel to godzilla king of the monsters becuase becuase in the showa version king ghidorah was the villain and a primary villain too but in this mileneum version they made him a guardian monster instead of using mothra and king ghidorah they should have used manda or varan with baragon defending the world from the first godzilla it would make good sence am i right or wrong.

@cooltravis5566 did they really want to make godzilla a bad guy so much that they made ghidorah good? this is the first movie I've seen to star that three headed dragon so now when I look at the most evil monster in the big-G universe I see a good-guy! It's the same with mecha-godzilla.

@hothed123412 It really wasn't so much that they wanted to make Godzilla look evil as they wanted more recognizable monsters for him to fight. The original Guardian Monsters were supposed to be Baragon, Anguiras and Varan, but the execs at Toho thought that those three alone weren't well known enough, especially Varan, so they went with Mothra and King Ghidorah as replacements.

@GamingGenius : I thought he was a little small too. His size, and the power level to me were kind of a let down. KG should be at the very least equal in power to Godzilla if not MORE powerful. I know originally they were going to have Varan in that role. I think they should have stuck with that. We've seen KG a billion times and Varan maybe 2 or 3? If there were gonna be disposable monsters in this film I would have gone with Varan, Baragon, and King Seesar.

i personally don't like the continuum of the most recent slew of godzilla movies. i especially don't like what they did with this move in particular, turning the monsters of the old series into guardian spirits. it doesn't make sense. the heisei series was much better.

I thought it was great to put a mythical spin on it. It makes more sense than the Sci-FI origins for these wierd creatures. Look at Ghidorah. He looks like a mythical dragon, not some wierd fusion of little bat thingies- or a giant space alien for that matter. The whole series would probably be more widely accepted if they didn't try to explain everything with pseudo science. I think that is the franchise' s biggest flaw.
