Great to see an update! I'm a little behind in catching up, but I'll get around to at least browsing through your newest videos. Glad to hear your operation went well.
Just remembering what caught my attention to you on youtube, I think it was the video of you making a crystal radio set ? Can't seem to find it now, but it was a good video and watched every "episode"since!
@pumper8032 That was quite a while ago, I'm glad you have hung in here with me for all this time down under. the video about the crystal radio is still active, its' title is "Re: Telling it all 21". I gave that radio to a viewer who was sick and bed ridden, that showed an interest in it.
@bretdhogan Thanks. I noticed that about the audio too. I was using a lapel mic with an extension line and I think it may not have been plugged completely together.
Glad to hear you are feeling better than ever, I really like your new office as well, really makes me want to do some work around my house as well, hope to see more from you soon, take care.
@Imperage Thanks, the exercise and eating better is really helping. The best part about working on the house is getting finished and getting to enjoy the results. I should post another video tonight if things go right.
@fehquig Thanks. I still have some work to do on both the barn and myself. I'd really like to drop about another 18 pounds and improve my conditioning as well. I can now easily walk 4 our 5 miles rapidly without getting out of breath but jogging is still a problem for me. I noticed yesterday while getting in and out of my kayak, that I had much better control and the whole effort was easier than before my health improvement.
@addernoir01 My office/studio is getting more comfortable as I start adding niceties. I built the oak table, where the lamp is setting, as a reference table. It normally sets over under the double window and my daughter likes to sit there and do here homework and projects. I'm really glad to be getting to the end of the building project and get to enjoy the fruits of my labor for a while.
@Vintage1923 Hello Roy. Thanks, I'm glad to get to start to use it now and hope to live to enjoy it for years to come.
I'll do a video showing my chroma key/ green screen setup soon. It is really nice to be able to leave the screen up and the lights in place without disturbing any of the rest of the family. Being away from the house also provides a quieter place for my work/play also. there is a bit of echo in the room but blinds on the windows and a rug on the floor will help that i think.
Nice to see you back mate and what a great new office/studio, that desk is great, must say I had been hanging out for another messabout installment and was curious how the barn was coming along, but as you well know time gets away from us!!
@pumper8032 Time does get away and as the years go by time for certain accelerates. Once I get some of the junk organized in my barn I'll do a walk through and show why I'm really enjoying having the space.
@BigRiggBlues Thanks, it is really going to be nice to have all my STUFF in one area where I can leave things hooked up and ready to use. it will make making videos much easier. I'll do a video showing the green screen and homebrew lighting set before too long.
What a wonderful job you have done with your office/studio the whole thing is of such a high quality. Congratulations on your new health routine kinda makes me feel so guilty of my life style. Good to see you back posting again and the quality of your videos (composition...lighting...camera....etc) are appreciated and a model to copy.
@geriatric1927 Thanks Peter, I've wanted an area like this for years, so I am really enjoying it and hope to get us from it throughout my retirement years. I plan to retire next Spring fro my company and start ding consultant work from home and the office will be great for that.
As for the exercise, I am reaping the benefits already. It has taken a few years off my age for certain. I'd encourage all older folks to be as active as possible and to eat as good as possible.
@messabout1 Our bodies can benefit from better treatment at any age I believe. The natural healing power of our wonderful body systems can be multiplied by having better nourishment and stimulation of use.
Thank you for the compliments about my video quality. I'm still learning how to make a video even after years of being on Youtube, but the learning is a big part of the fun too. I did another video, about my grandmother last night that went on for almost an hour. It will be uploaded tonight
the barn office is looking great, the volune was very low on this, dont know why? good to see your looking good. hope you make more videos as you feel like it,((smiles))
Love the new studio, and i was admiring the desk from the start of the video, you have got it really nice now but you have put in the work, glad to hear and see you are keeping fit and well, spring time is the best time of the year even been sunny here in UK, just one small request, please move that lamp from the edge of the desk my heart was in my mouth thinking he's going to knock it off with his arm :-)
@alfonzo2000 Thanks All. the work has paid off but yes, it was a lot of work. I'm enjoying the better health and feel like I have set my age clock back a few years. This Spring is especially enjoyed here in that we had a colder Winter than normal.
The lamp wasn't as close to the table edge as it looks in the video, but i did return it to a safe place atop my desk bookshelf after the video.. I'd hate to lose that one since it has family connections.
@demos16 Thanks. I have been blessed to be able to return to good health after my bout with prostate cancer last Summer. My doctor has allowed me to get completely off and prescription medication after my recent physical. All of my body chemistry is where it should be now. I plan to try my best to keep it that way. Statistics show that a man of my age should be able to live to his mid 80's so maybe I can have another 20 years in this wondrous place.
Nice update, good to hear your health is coming around. Keep up with the exercise an weights I'm hoping I keep up with it when I am around your age as well. I'm in my late 20s and enjoy the gym. I am trying to get my parents in their early 60s to do some exercise as well lol!
@x900lbGorillax Thanks I plan to keep on the program as long as I can. Yes staying fit is easier that trying to get back into shape. Hopefully your parents will start, but it is harder for some than it is for others
