Wow, intense and way to go. Can you come to BC and kick our vampire sucking fracking assholes out too? Mind you , alot of people from back east depend on the jobs out west.....better here than more off-shore potential killing of the Grande Banks??? I believe Montanians also tried to warn Albertans but money speaks louder than words. Now if the US passed all the hundreds of energy patents they are holding onto in the interest of "national security" we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
@sunflowerofpeace All I can tell you is that roadblocks work! We had a roadblock for two days in August and stopped thumper trucks and seismic testing for two days, and then left on our own accord! Get 60 people together and stay peaceful but don't move!
@scattrdlikelostwords well it looks like people here may be waking up despite the fact we make SO much money !!! Check this out in CBC news h t t p : / / w w w .cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/story/2011/09/28/bc-shale-gas-sick-farmers. h t m l , thanks for the tips ;D We have had our own "terrorist" here also, a domestic one and he went to jail at 60 yrs old for fighting for his families health and farm ! stand strong ;)
@Lapompelamousse Really..... In my world we now have vehicles powered by NG.... But whatever, I guess I was a Jackass for even posting something on You tube. I have lowered myself to your level. Over and out!
I'm an environmentalist, but also a scientist. It is truly saddening to see people act so violently based on false beliefs. They have obviously bought into Gaslands, but don't realize that the movie was severely flawed and downright libelous. I wouldn't be surprised if the makers of Gaslands get hit with a major defamation lawsuit in the next few years... and lose.
@CH4Geo This isn't about Gasland. Here in New Brunswick we have no inspectors for the shale gas industry yet the government is letting them go full tilt into exploration and now drilling test wells. We were promised inspectors to monitor even the preliminary exploratory act of seismic testing and never saw one, because there are none. Our royalty rate is set at an absurdly low level - and we are taking all the risk while these companies come in with their foreign workers and leave with the $.
@scattrdlikelostwords What does that even mean? Inspectors inspecting what? Why does seismic testing require inspectors on top of what the DNRNB already is paid to do?
@EasyEs Inspectors that would simply ensure that seismic testing companies are following the regulations (distance from water wells etc.) . Seismic testing is a mostly non-invasive process, so the idea here isn't to freak out about some temporary vibrations - but to let companies know that they will be held accountable if/when they break the rules (especially when it comes to extraction). Unfortunately our DNR is a few steps behind the game when it comes to the natural gas business.
@scattrdlikelostwords You see the issue I have is that I am from Nova Scotia and am a Geologist who has worked for the public sector and have worked for the oil and gas industry. That gives me some insight into the issues and I have to tell you that the vast majority of oil and gas companies are not interested in breaking laws or hurting the enviroment. I can also tell you that this idea that fracking will harm NB is based on very poor science. I have delt with DNR NB and they are catching up
FYI: SWN doesnt frac! The companies that frac are not part of SWN! Maybe people should get their facts correct before they start pointing fingers. SWN is a gathering company. They drill for gas and gather it via pipelines. Things that come after this process are done by companies that are not SWN! If you have a home with natural gas heat or your cook stove is natural gas- please explain to me how you think you would get natural gas for heat if it wasnt for these companies???
@jamiers555 SWN does frack for natural gas. You seem to think that everyone in the province wants and uses natural gas already to cook and heat their homes, this is not the case. SWN and other companies that wish to exploit New Brunswick by poisoning our home so they can make money are absolutely disgusting. Also, FYI: hydraulic fracturing is a process that is used to release natural gas from shale deposits (thus it is a form of drilling). Fracturing doesn't happer after the fact.
Yea i heard something about some Gorilla types attacks here in NB on the drilling sites. In my prospective,i think they may back off these parts of New-Brunswick if this type of civil vandalism continues. But their affiliates will try harder to bring up a more coward NB in the next 30 years threw education and laws.Starvation may be a factor as well as forcing us to move west.
Never think its over here. Now is the time to stay on these men's necks. Not only on those fracking frackers...
I love our Native population in NB. Keep protecting our lands, guys. Maybe you could help we implants learn something about protecting our beautiful province. I, as a New Brunswicker, stand with you.
I cannot think of anything good SWN has done for Arkansas. I have a lot of YouTube videos. Most are about how horrible the industry and the government are. They only care about money. Not the people or environment.
This makes me cry. We tried in Arkansas to tell the Ministers of New Brunswick how horrible fracking was, but they could not see past the money. I am so sorry.
@leuhooster Thank you for the kind words.. according to SWN; what's going on in Arkansas is a model for what good could come for NB. I'd love to hear from you about how things are down there!
