Sometimes we don't test animals for medication that has to do with DNA, we sometimes do it for physical reasons. And once a medication is deemed 'safe' we then move on to humans who have volunteered. Recently a washing up liquid company cut of a rabbits eyelids so it couldn't blink and squirted the washing up liquid into the rabbits eyes to see how it long it would take for the rabbit to go blind.
Why would we need to test that? It's obvious that squirting washing up liquid into your eye will be painfull, so why do we have to test that on poor defenceless animals?
Maybe the company that made the liquid should squirt it into their own eyes, see how that feels to them.

these photos look more like...animal testing for surgical / medical purposes...why wud the skull need ot be cracked open and sewed back if it wasn't medical purposes? a lot of cosmetic brands no longer use animal testing, but they request people to sign up to help test for allergy etc.
but .. meh. please don't buy dog food/ cat food/ animal food for ur pets from companies that test them on animals in their lab visit peta.org to find a list of products that don't have animal cruelity behind it

Can you prove these animals were used for cosmetic testing? Maybe they were used for AIDS research, or medical research. Is it wrong? Yes. But you provided nothing to help stop and if it was medical research, I'm sorry but, sometimes they need to do that. Cosmetics....not to much.

How about you make an argument and not quote every scientist that conforms to your values. Did you know that pigs and humans are VERY much alike physically. Sometimes we don't test animals for medication that has to do with DNA, we sometimes do it for physical reasons. And once a medication is deemed 'safe' we then move on to humans who have volunteered. You see, scientists use animals to make sure it's safe then move on to people to see if it works.

I have seen interviews and footage of legitimate, clean, healthy medical testing facilities and the animals are extremely happy and healthy. AIDS need all the research we can muster. 3- On the other hand, tests for which the results are already known should be banned. Draize is an unnecessary torture as anyone with common sense knows that shampoo that gets in your eyes will hurt them (I buy shampoo that is not animal tested)or that certain chemicals contained in perfumes will irritate your skin. Well, I believe a balance must be reached where only legitimate testing happens and animals used are treated in the most humane way and spared the most suffering possible.

2- Any person with a little humanity will have trouble watching this, but imagine someone beloved to you developed cancer or some other disease. Testing completely unknown treatments on humans is something that no sane government would permit, and unfortunately, this painful images become a necessary evil, it is a steep price alright, but I´m pretty sure there are scores of scientists working to reach a day when these vivisection experiments are no longer needed.

1-The images are definately terrible and heartbreaking, but you must learn to differentiate between testing animals for cosmetics (shampoos, lotions, etc) and testing for medications that save people´s lives. Manipulating people by leading them to believe this is all made in the sole name of vanity is dishonest and does not help your cause.Unfortunately at this moment there are no other ways to perform certain trials and thus animals must be sacrificed.....

Fact=animals dont feel much pain,FACT = animals were put here for us to use,why not use themFact = synthetic materials are not as warm as animal skins.Fact = some make ups and aftershaves may cause harm to us ,so why not test them on animals first,i dont mean the animals that are kept as pets or in zoos,just animals that nobody likes like wild rabbits , stray cats and dogs,what harm will that do? im sure youd rather see an animal used for testing makeup rather than my girlfriend getting a rash.

@mrarches Animals does have feelings. I saw a video of a dog running by force and they evil ones (humans) had taken out the vocal cords so it couldn't bark or cry as dogs do. You could see the tears on the dogs face and if it stopped running it would die. It never got to stop because they wanted to see how long it could last.
People like you maybe don't have respect for animals but people won't have respect for you either.

Where have you read the fact that they can't feel pain? On a side that does stand for the torture of animals? They scream in pain, I've seen a horrible video on news and you can hear the animals scream, in this case it was rabbits and you could still hear them.

I think if this came out as an advertisment on TV it would get alot of support from people. As an animal lover I found this extremely hard to watch infact i didnt even get to the end.I think that it takes people to actually see this because not everyone is aware of what goes on behind the product they buy, most people dont think twice.
It makes me so angry and frustrated, it actually amazes me how those people who do that sleep at night.....i do believe in Karma tho and their day will come.

I feel my heart drop into my stomache when I watch this. And with so many tears, its hard to type. I completley agree with raikk122. Were we really supposed to come to this? Ofcourse there has to be more than one alternative other than animals to test something we dont even need. So many die just so others get looks and others get pocket change. Recently a washing up liquid company cut of a rabbits eyelids so it couldn't blink and squirted the washing up liquid into the rabbits eyes to see how it long it would take for the rabbit to go blind.
Why would we need to test that? It's obvious that squirting washing up liquid into your eye will be painfull, so why do we have to test that on poor defenceless animals?
Maybe the company that made the liquid should squirt it into their own eyes, see how that feels to them.
