So even though he mentioned little of Canada (other than it shows up safe on his maps), he eluded to being in low populated areas in colder climates. Thus, Canadians who are quite used to living in an extreme climate and have such a huge land mass (not to mention much of the fresh water) with a small population would be well situated.
