  • awesome... nice ride! sond like a tank !

  • i have an 07 shelby GT. they dont sound like that anymore! wow, very nice.

i love the off-throttle growl right around the 3 min mark, just growls winding down.. sounds ...Perfect....

  • LOL open heads would certainly cure the leaky header problem. If you don't mind me asking what kind of headers and exhaust are you running? I would love it if my '70 Cougar sounded that mean.

  • Wow! That old FoMoCo sounds angry! Is that straight pipes? She sounds great!

  • @eberts70 yeh, its actually starting to leak out the headers a bit so now its even loader....

Maybe we'll just run it with open heads lol

Maybe we'll just run it with open heads lol

  • Holy shit !!

this sound !!! ggrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR ..... gggggrGGGRRRRRRRR

Just thanks for this vidéo ;)

    From France

  • @mire101 Thansk for the comment, glad you like it

  • Holy shit…that is one very angry sounding car…fantastic

  • The Ford 289, best engine ever produced. That Shelby sounds like hell on wheels! Awesome ride!

  • 0:45, sounds like a steam train moving lol

  • This beast doesn't deserve to be caged for 12 months!

  • Big F U to the epa, and oh man I love it. Awesome car, don't ever let it sit for 12 months again man

  • This sound is heady...

  • still soundin good. Hope you got a few miles cruisin in it this summer.

  • ohh yes. we have some nice back roads to really open here up. only problem is the local cop can hear us start up so hes always waiting by the intersection. so we go a different route every time :) hehe

  • that is one the most brutal cars ever produced.

  • i watch this video alot in the winter, when my '66 Coupe is in the garage. I swear it sounds the same as mine when its turning over. It really helps to get me thru them long months till spring time.

Makes my day too, or hour depending on how often i visit this way cool Mustang!

  • you made my saturday morning much better. glad i found this video. sure sounds good. if you need someone to take it for a spin more often, you can always give me a call. you have a sweet stang.

  • mmmmmm pork crackle overun

  • In the winter, i come here just to listen to your car crankin, love the way it sounds. Almost like my '66. Helps to get me thru the winter!

  • Every time i let my '66 Coupe sit for a couple weeks...it takes at least 2 trys. usually starts right up on the 3rd time tho. I think of this video every time too. lol. Im sure mine would take 4 cranks too also if it sat for a year, but then thats a crime!!

Still dream about my '66 Hertz one day!

  • Really great car man, im looking into buying one right now and am trying to find the right one =)

    Happy driving.

  • i have a boner :)

  • I came

  • news cars cant beat older ones in sound babay

  • yeah, every time i go to start my '66 Coupe, some times it'll start right away, then some days it takes a few cranks. BUT it always starts. After sittin 2-3 months, it takes 3 times usually.

Wish i had 306hp instead of the c code 289 with only 200hp. That was also 43 years ago. Now its at 190,000 miles so it prob aint puttin out that much. Still gets me from point A to point B tho.

Even in a hurry some days, if Im feelin lucky.

  • nope, its a 289, but this is a shelby so it does have differences compared to the regular 289. this is closer to the Hipo 289 as it can rev up to 7500rpm, Quite impressive for a 40 year old engine with mechanical fuel pumps and carbs etc lol

  • the engine sounds larger than a 289 cid

  • Yes, they do like to be driven. I SO LOVE driving my '66 Coupe. had it 21 years next month.

  • wow she sounded angry when she started

like why the fuck havent you started me grrrr gonna make you pay boyy haha

  • So true, the car is evil. everytime you open her up she just wants more

  • WHO lets a shelby gt350 sit for a year!!!!

  • someone who doesnt drive it in snow sleet rain or anything other than glorious sunshine :)

  • hey, i did some taping from the passenger seat once in about 1987 and Yes, i got a real good, LONG look at the dash. My ex and kids still tease me about it.

But its the "sound" of this car thats so great. I want one! Please Santa!!

  • Nice dash and glove box ;-)

  • Sounds like a 289 HiPo with racing exhaust

  • spot on. open headers and straight through pipes :)

  • wow, this is the FIRST time iv ever seen a pair of original type wipers on a Mustang...well, except for my '66. Even in all my searching. And my '66 coupe which has 200,000 miles on the 289, will start fine every day but let it sit for even 2 weeks and it takes a few cranks. It doesnt run for 2-3 months at a time in winter, some times you have to pump the heck out of it, and sometimes you will flood it if you do that, its tempermental. Still getting the hang of it after 20 years!

  • lol. my cousin treats this car better than his wife lol. its done less than 40000 miles.

he used to have the same problem with starting when it was sat around for a while as you can see in the video. but, now he uses aviation fuel. its got a much higer octain and it just seems to work with the old leaded engines. starts 1st time everytime now, and has a bit more bite to it :).

  • not only that but the fuel keeps alot long aswell so its ideal for storage.

However look into it beforehand and make sure you remove all regular petrol because it dont mix well

  • had to laugh at vayloc310 comment

  • Now why did the car have a hard time starting?, sounds like timing needs to be adjusted and a new distributor cap, rotor, & maybe a coil...

  • because it hadnt been started for about a year.

now it starts 1st time everytime :)

  • What are the specs on the engine?, 428 CJ....

  • my dads 66 takes a couple times to turn over if it sits for 2-3 weeks its just the way carburated engines are

  • Yeah, I'm havin' that same problem with my carbureted Chevy now, but yeah, carbureted engines do that, but I know I have a vacuum leak in the engine somewhere I have to find and I think the leak is in the carburetor cuz I had that problem before and the rebuild fixed it

  • Now that's a real Mustang!!

  • :) sounds nice.

im named after one of these! xD

  • awsum. i love that name. and love the car.

Im so jealous. i wish i had a cool name like that lol

  • now you want to talk about bringing back very fond memories. thank you. it reminds me of the one i used to have. very good video, except the camera needed to show the road instead of the dash. thanks again

  • how did you find the car and in what condition? Isn't that ivy green, i find the white around the hood and brakesccops kinda weird but hey whatever

  • my cousin bought it when it was a year old, it was reclaimed because the orginal owner couldn't keep up the payments.

im not sure what the actual paint is, but its been resprayed with the same green but with la mans stripes. i'll be adding another video later :D

  • now that's a car i'dd keep for ever, unless ofcourse i could get a ridiculous price for it

  • sensational car just wondering how fast were you going in it

  • Oh yer it also runs on aviation fuel aswell. The higher octain means it starts easyer, and it doesn't corrode like regular petrol. makes it good for storage as its only used a few times in the summer :)

  • I love your car. This is a real 1966 shelby built by carol shelby or this is a replic ?

  • its a real. the car is completely original. The only difference is it was given a new coat of paint since this video. It is the same "shelby Green" but with white la mans stripes. It looks even better.

  • Fun ride! Thanks...

  • absolute sex on wheels ))))))

  • I love your car so much,i have always had a love for these wonderful cars, and one day i will own one, even if its a stock 67 fastback,im very poor, and will probably never ever expierience the thrill of driving a Ford Mustang...ty for sharing this video with me.

  • That`s one cool mama

  • what?

  • the sound is uncredibly!!! my respect from germany

  • 8)... never drove in one of those, you have to feel like a god when you go full throttle

  • are you running it off the headers?

  • Sounds great, just like mine until she warms up. Nice! Check out my 1978 cobra II, 289 hi-po, boss 302 rods balenced blueprinted, bigger valves. Nice car dude! stanzutube or just try "mustang ii

  • i want this car so bad
