One of the best RPG's of it's time and certainly one of the best ever made!

I think I was like 14 when this came out. I still play the SNES version and I still listen to the OST every so often even 15 years later. I miss the days of simple game graphics (SEGA/SNES) when story telling and music made the biggest impact on fun factor.

Catchy...? CATCHY???!!!!!!! IS THAT ALL YOU CAN SAY??!!!!!!!! That's an INSULT to Yasunori Mitsuda's work!!!!!!!! There's sooooo much more to it than just "CATCHY"!!!!!

Just take Marle's Theme, for example. Not even in most movie scores (and definitely not in most popular music) do you see progressions like I-V-I-V6-vi-V6/V-V(6/4-5/3)-I6­-V6/ii-ii-V-I-V6-vi-iii6-IV-I-­ii7-V-I. And this is just a simple lullaby. Don't even get me started with the Credits Theme!!!

Why remake a game that's already good? It's already an awesome game, they're not gonna make it better. If remakes have taught us anything, it's to just leave things alone. Chances are, when remaking it, they'd change a lot of stuff around. We wouldn't want them to, but they would anyway. So a basic re-release is fine with me, at least that way, it's still just as awesome.

@DaRkLoRd1061 It does not matter what version you play, as long as you play it. On the PSX, you get cool animated cut scenes but you have to deal with load times. On the SNES, you have no load times but you do not get the cool animated cut scenes.

@fsmetal i tryed playing a ps1 rom, but the load times were pissing me off, but i managed to find a cheap cartridge now for the snes, so i 've played it on that, it's an awesome game, just everything about it is done brilliantly...

I have to admit I was a little disappointed in the "remakes" of Chrono Trigger, since when was the definition of remaking something copy and paste? They made final fantasy 4 into complete 3d on the DS, why couldn't they do the same to CT? Chrono Trigger is as popular as FFIV if not more, and the DS is more than capable. Not to mention instead of negotiating with the team that tried to remake CT, they just decided to threaten to sue their asses. Cmon Square Enix are you afraid to make money?

lucky for you, you only had 3 months to wait and play this game.

I...on the other hand being from Australia...had to wait a massive 13 years all because Square never translated their games for PAL territory that included all those European countries...

But thanks for FF7 for the PSX, they changed their ways and started translating for PAL territory...

So yeah, fantastic game, only I had to wait 13 years just to play this and I was 24 at the time I finally got to play it.

You know you have a point. Final Fantasy IV was remade an assload of times and it was remade into 3D for the DS version. However, I think it would be extremely difficult to make a Chrono Trigger in 3D unless if it's for the PS3. PSP and DS wouldn't work out.

Its just how Square shuted down a fan made Chrono trigger that was being made in 3d!

So they ruined what was doing to be epic, just so they can come around and remake it for the 3rd time to be another Copy and past from the snes..

Chrono Trigger is awsome but Chrono Cross is just as awsome as this!

Eevn though Chrono Cross has almost no connection to Chrono Trigger,its still a great RPG in my opinion,I really liked the fact that you have such a wide veriety of characters to choose from(even though ALOT others will disagree with me....)

golden sun is awesome but not as awesome as crono trigger.. and i think crono is even much better than i you ever think of before final fantasy 7.. just play this game and you will know whats the def. between golden sun and chrono.. and classic always win the best game because they are the first ^^ but not all classic games.. ^^

Oh yeah I forgot the PS1 version. Though the PS1 version has those annoying load times.

The DS is without a doubt the best version though. It has the PS1 cutscenes with no loading, and also it has a better interface this time around.
