You're close-minded on the show simply due to its cutesy art style, overuse of "girly" colors like pink, & the fact that the original campy product was meant to promote the girl-dominated toy line. In fact, I only watch the new show because the wriiting is superb & the character interaction is just as brilliant, bringing more relatable realism into the MLP-verse than ever previously done before (ex: Tara Strong as Twilight Sparkle...enough said).

I was five when this episode aired, and I still remember it. Every Sunday night, me, and my parents would sit down and watch this show, and never missed a single episode. It's when kids, and parents could sit and watch a PRIME TIME show TOGETHER, and not have to worry it was going to be inappropriate. How very sad we can't do that anymore.

Wonderful.I actually watched this the 1st time round!- on London Weekend Television 5-30pm ? on Sunday 5th September 1976.I had never seen anything like 'The Muppet Show' & watched it every Sunday from then on.It was a real tv treat back then.Zany & intended for adults as well as children unlike Sesame Street.Thanks for this great clip.

As for the new MLP, the intended audience may still be little girls, but there are male fans (called bronies in the fandom) who like it (myself included).
