I lost ALL respect for Butt Midler when she successfully sued Ford Motor Co for "stealing her sound" when they hired someone to sing Do You Wanna Dance in her "style". She may be talented, but I don't have respect for her.

Now, the Mills Bros. were really good. Harry Mills was Dean Martin's prime inspiration, and considering how many people Dino ended up inspriring (Elvis, etc.), that's quite a compliment to a real talent. These guys had a unique vocal sound that was in vogue for many years!

@flojogrande Their brother John died in the late 1930's. That's when John Sr. stepped in until he retired in the late 1950's. They continued as a trio with the fourth unofficial member, guitarist Norman Brown. Brown passed away around 1968. Harry's health deteriorated through the 1970's with complications from diabetes. He lost a lot of weight and was totally blind the last few years of his life. Donald's son John III tours with Elmer Hopper as the Mill's Brothers now.

@bdzmusicprod Thanks for the info. I am only 45 but I was turned on to the Mills Brothers only about a year or so before Donald past on in 1999. I use to listen to 570 AM KLAC in Los Angeles before they changed the theme of the Radio Station. A coworker back around that time told me to look into the Mills Brothers since I was now really discovering Dean Martin, Sinatra, Sammy, Jack Jones, Al Martino, Tony Bennette, Perry Como, Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald and others I had taken for granted.

@bdzmusicprod ....What I was really trying to say was I had heard these artist or some of them in the past but I really wasn't into the music. I truely appreciate it so much more at this point in my life. I have discovered a new Radio Station that plays all the greats here in Los Angeles. They stream on the web too if I'm not mistaken. It's Retro 1260 AM on the dial. Thanks for your reply!
