I followed your tutorial, and it worked except it lags. The first one I recorded lagged a little. So I tried to record another and it lagged really bad. I was on my select screen almost 5 minutes trying to pick a character. Then It took forever to get to the vs screen and even longer to get to the fight screen. The fight was so slow it like froze every 2 secs. What do you think could be wrong? Maybe my computer is be slow?

that's because you are trying to record mugen, at a higher window resolution. try recording at 320x240. i record at that resolution often.

if this doesn't work, use SnagIt.

@ muertefacil90: you have to adjust it, in the mugen.cfg file, located in the data folder of mugen. inside that file, it will say how to do it.

@ hollywoodhulkhogan311: you have to understand, that running anything, and recording takes system ram to do so. if you don't have enough system ram, then it will not record properly. this applies to all things on a computer.

What framerate do you use in hypercam? Like 10 frames a sec or? I use to have it set to 30 but I dunno mugen runs at 60fps so what do you record at?

I leave mugen set internally at 60fps, then use Hypercam to record & playback at 29fps.

Press Record before opening mugen. this way, it will not complain about a high framerate. It complains about this, because when you try to press it while the mugen window is open, it will complain.

to keep it from doing so, just press record, then open mugen. You can use something like VirtualDub or Windows Movie Maker to edit out the parts you didn't want to catch.

if it's still complaining, then press record, then start mugen normally. You can always use a video editing tool to edit out parts of the video that you didn't want recorded.

The only problem with it is, is the fact that my Mugen ( which is mugen fighting Jam ) is full screen. I've looked through the FAQ's and it does not tell me on how to adjust it so it's not full screen.

oh, is that all? number one thing, Mugen is best recorded at 320x240. it doesn't need to be fullscreen, for it to record properly.

go into the Data Folder of mugen, and open the "mugen.cfg" file, located in the data foler. Use notepad to open that file. Once open, scroll down, until you see the following comment after this one

Height =480

set the above to what i put below

Width =320

Height =240

Then, scroll down until you see

Stretch =0. Set that to 1. Then set DoubleRes to either 0 or 4. then set DXMode to windowed.

when you record with Hypercam, whenever you have to name the file, you do out .avi behind it, right? if you don't put a file extension behind it, it will not show properly in others.

Open Hypercam, and clikc on the "AVI File" tab, and look at where it says "AVI File Name" wherever it says, that is where your file is going. just go to that said directory, and look for them there.

To play it after you just stopped recording from Hypercam. simply hit the play button. but this only applies if you didn't close it out Hypercam. If you did close it out, you'll have to go where the file was saved.

you have to set the hotkey for it to use it. it's not going to be set like that as a default.
