  • Embrace the power of fetish. It rocks.

  • I think that she is not afraid of taking chances and she is a woman who knows her own strength. - Naked Lady Gaga. C0000M - -

  • I thought that the scientific definition of a fetish was something becoming a sex object, i.e. partner MUST wear high heels or socks in order for you to reach orgasm. Where as a "turn-on" is something that just turns you on, but you can reach orgasm without it.

  • @applecom14 That is a bit of an exaggeration really

  • @applecom14 I think clinically you're right but, most of the public doesn't think that critically. They don't see how dressing their lady up in lingerie isn't any different than being into shoes.

  • omfg!!!!!!!!

  • The conjugation:

    I am erotic

    You are kinky

    They are perverted

  • Maelwysii - You're absolutely right. Moreover -

    A sexual turn on (or paraphelia) is simply something that the individual enjoys or gets some sexual gratification from. A fetish occurs when the paraphelia becomes necessarily present to achieve sexual gratification, or when gratification or stimulation is impossible without.

    That's the APA def, of course, and most folks aren't using those definitions in everyday conversation :)

  • I couldn't have said it better. ^^;

  • I think the difference would come in if the person with a fetish simply 'has' to have the fetish activity to be turned on, while the turn-on is merely one of many others.

  • what if they REALLY just wanted to try it once? Does it still qualify as a turn on?

  • @Maelwysii: Correct.

  • "distinguishment?"

    Distinction is the word you were looking for there Dan. Don't feel bad . . . I'll send you naked pictures of myself to make you feel better.
