All you negative people who are hating on Sonu Nigam are completely wrong. There will only be one Rafi, just like there will only be one Michael Jordan, no one will ever be better than him. There are many players who look up to him and try to imitate Jordan, but none will ever come close, the closest would be Kobe Bryant. In the same way there will never be another Rafi, but Sonu looks up to him.

Jordan = Rafi as Sonu = Kobe

I show a difference between mohd. rafi and sonu....when mohd. rafi sahab sang high notes or low notes, no expression on his face but as you are watching on this video sonu has expressions to sing high notes.

Its gr8 to see a young , accomplished singer,Sonu sing areal classic. It takes abounding ability toget as close as Sonu has. Such efforts, full of love and passion for the legend have kept the old songs alive and the younger generation has benefitted listening to these songs. No two singers can be expected to sing in the same manner.Even Rafi has sung it differently at different occasions.Sonu has hit the high notes with ease and style which needs to be commended. Just heard this after listening to the Rafi version of the same song on stage in Bradford.

Sonu is a great singer of the era, probably the best and no he is not trying to cash-in on Rafi, it is clear he is merely taking inspiration from him and more than anyone else he himself knows that he can not match Rafi sahb.

Still he did sing it well for today's generation. Consider this, none of the greats in Rafi's time could do it.

Sonu looks up to Rafi for inspiration, no one is saying that Sonu sounds like or better than Rafi because I think we all know that no two singers can be alike.

This song is Sonu's version of a classic and therefore it is unique in itself. You can not expect Sonu and Rafi to sing the song the same way.
