  • beautifull

  • so its ok to sing in islam

  • Flip, you just made me cry..Thank you!

  • Thank you for coming back, Cat. Better late than never. Glad you never lost your love of fine guitars.

  • @b164able so u can!! islam means submitting wills to only one God! so Yusuf Islam means `Yusuf who submits his

wills to only One God` what a nice name is that !!

  • He just has a way of making me feel so peaceful...always has...always will :C)

  • Outstanding

  • @b164able

if you wanna be me...be me

if you wanna be you...be you :)

  • I always loved his words of wisdom. Certain people you never forget in your life & his music always touched me. I was glad to see this post. Thank you.

  • This is just fantastic!! Thank you Yusuf for all the years of music that you have provided for us.

  • can't take the music out of the man, no matter how long it's been

  • Thank you for posting. Good to see this.

  • Dude, this kicks ass.

  • No matter what he is now...only a very good soul could have written songs like that. And I don't think the soul within him has changed. I will judge his character on that and not the outward trappings of his religion.

  • Wavelength ( Van Morrison)

You are ev'ry where you're 'sposed to be

And I can get your station

    When I need rejuvenation

    I feel this with Yusuf 's music : )

  • he is my inspiration to become a singer songwriter such a great artist

  • One idiot does not love nature, animals and specially children. Poor soul...

  • i wish people would not argue over religion but love the song for what it is and the message it carries also how beautifully he has done it is no matter what your views and beliefs are

  • I think you misinterpret my comments. I have never said or never would say that there are no good Muslims. The governor of Punjab in Pakistan was assassinated for advocating the freedom of a Christian woman jailed for blasphemy. I would call him a brother though he was a Muslim.

  • As all his songs do - this one touches something so basic in the human heart - it is almost impossible not to weep from its beauty. When one can sing, or play, or write, or paint - this is a true Gift from God - because only God can create. When that gift is used to touch people, to touch their hearts, to change or clarify their perception/perspective - that is the Gift that is given back to God. Yusuf has spent his entire Life giving it back to God. We are blessed that he is living in our time.

  • yes the power in his voice was short lived. the song explains itself

  • may allah bless yusuf islam

    he is our brother

  • Absolutely Fantastic!! I love you Yusuf.

  • I cannot express in words what this does to the soul I've denied even existed for so long. My very tears speak volumes. Thank you, Yusuf, for touching my heart where few have been able.

  • Yusuf, Cat, when Mohammed and his followers were being persecuted on the Arabian peninsula the Christian King of Ethiopia granted them sanctuary (or else there likely would be no Islam today). Cat, please come back to Jesus.

  • @richrblake Nice message. I agree. But as long as he preaches love I will love Yusuf/Cat also.

  • @richrblake You know the king you are talking about became a Muslim before he passed away? Please just respect that people have different beliefs. Look at their actions instead of what they call themselves. this is a wiser way of acting, i believe. Peace

  • just perfect.

  • ges getting better and better

  • I agree. I lost my oldest son (also 19) on July 6, 09; and this song and "father and son" speak volumes to me. This one reminds me of a time when he was young and healthy. He was so beautiful, and made me so happy just running around (he only had one speed; WFO ). I always cry a little and smile a lot when I hear this.

  • Yusuf...please, do not stop your everything. you do and thus, others like you, become, ever closer to what we may. Please, do not stop. Thank you so much for this. Thank you So much, for you.

  • yusuf he is the best! I look up to him he is a role model, he lives in this world but he is so spiritual also

  • @janfreidun this version is much better than the one that appeared on choclate box, I'm serious, the choclate box cut was more pop n pep but this one is really sincere and touching, I adore Yusuf Islam,

  • is he still a practising muslim?

  • Meraviglioso. Qualcuno riesce a tradurmi in italiano il discorso che fa prima della canzone? Grazie!

  • I just saw "Bio" on Cat Stevens and am SO moved, SO inspired. What an amazing, kind, loving man. I have been playing some of his songs for my 9 year old such as "Morning Has Broken"...it's her new favorite song.

    I agree...he absolutely is a saint!!

  • cool, but did u know that "morning has broken" is not his song but rather a popular Christian Hym , Neil Diamond also sings a version

  • okay so i have decided that Yusuf/ cat is an absolute saint :)

His just far too pure to be a human!

God bless his humble heart and soul.

  • song was in kingpin

  • Magnificent songwriter and performer! Terrific open field acoustical solo version!! Very cool intro into how the song came about!! Thanks for posting!!!

  • Absolutely beautiful.

  • lovely as always!

  • Thank you Drexmo. Means a lot.

  • Very beautiful. We lost a young man (19) on August 20th. Close friend of my daughter. "You're only dancing on this earth a short while"

and "will you carry the words of love with you when you ride the great white bird into heaven" Beautiful words for the memory of this young man.

  • I'm so sorry to hear that. Your daughter and all the man's family and friends have my best wishes and my deepest blessing. May he travel peacefully whatever journey awaits us after this world. May he not be mourned, for now he will feel no sorrow and no pain. May he live on in stars, in wind, in clouds of dust, in music and in memory, continuing to enrich and enable his fellow people. May we all cherish the people and experiences of our lives, for they are our most precious gifts.

  • Absolutely beautiful even today! Yes people are the same all over the world,so why do politicians think that we hate each other?

  • I have been all over. People are the same everywhere. The paradox is that we are all human, but somehow cannot share this.

  • (brb)

    very beautiful

  • why don't we have such wonderful, truly spiritually seasoned, and gifted people as Yusuf to be our ambassadors to the (middle east) so we, and they can find a space for understanding--we all want the same thing!

  • Thanks for posting this video!! Peace & Love TURK

  • Amazing! Thanks for posting this. I wanted to learn this song to play for my boy....

  • lets all live in peace and understanding

  • amen... just seems like common sense to me but for some reason some people still live in the dark

  • very pretty

  • Watch these videos and see what islam is.

    watch?v=X1AGitCGlns&feature=Pl ayList&p=FCBB97469A99E1CF&inde x=0

  • i'm so glad he's always trying to do something good.he's encouraging the new generation not to repeat the same mistakes and to strive for a peaceful world.Everyone's life is sacred.

  • so true... and yet there are still some people who live in darkness refusing to see common sense

  • You're allowed to speak your opinion, and I understand completely what you're talking about. But this is not the time nor the place for it. Yusuf Islam's message and song in this video have nothing to do with the specifics of the Islamic faith, and questioning the integrity of its pillars here on this video just because the man is Muslim is bigotry.

  • How exactly did Muhammad destroy Aisha's life? By marrying her young, teaching her the wisdom of God and having her carry on the message?

A message you, my friend, will never, oh never, attain salvation without.

  • I think Daisytoo is looking at the marriage from a modern perspective, since sexual relations between an adult and a child are now known to be physically and psychologically damaging. Understanding the differences between Muhammad's culture and our own can make a big difference in interpreting and carrying out his teachings. Whether or not it was immoral behavior in cultural context, it does not instantly discredit his every word.

To both of you: Let's try not to let our faiths divide us, hm?

  • You've made a very good point, drexmo.

Sad to say, not many people are as enlightened. My intent is not to cause division; I responded in such a manner because I felt offended (and rightfully so). I wasn't in the best of moods that night. More often then not I tend to ignore such comments around here but there are times when that is not possible I'm afraid.

Thanks for trying to prevent any possible gap between faiths, as if there wasn't one already, but one could always try. :]

  • In Mohammed's time, he was accused of many things. He was called crazy, magician, but not Pedo.

If what he did was wrong, why didn't anyone say anything?? If his enemies didn't say anything.

Do you know that in California around 1890, the age of consent was raised 12 years old??

Were Americans Pedophilia at that time??

  • People in the past rode horses all the time.

If you see someone right now riding a horse to work, you will call him crazy, why is that??

It is because life has changed.

It is the same thing, people in the past used to get married young. Old people marrying young women was something normal.

    Right now, it is not.

Prophet Mohammed didn't do anything wrong.

When he got married to Aisha, no one said anything about it. Not Muslims, not Christians, not Jews, not Romans, not Persians.

  • I'm not sure why your comment is directed at me....

Life has indeed changed, but so has human intellect, and if you argue with an opponent of Islam that's what they'll tell you. In other words, in certain areas man is more intelligent today than he was centuries or millennia ago. I suppose that's how they would explain why the Prophet (like some of those Americans) was never rebuked for marrying Aisha.

  • Thank you for posting. This is such a wonderful song by a wonderful person. It really made my day!

  • Beautiful! Thankyou

  • What a perfect way to start a New Year

  • Thank you Drexmo, made my day :)

    Marie

  • Thank you so much Drexmo, for sharing this :-)

    Happy New Year,

    Sue

  • Yusuf, you still have it. Thank you!
