@gyrate4 The CX500 was watercooled, and it was a heavy old Hector.

There were many appreciable differences, but its possible they saw the layout and went Hmmm. Maybe they didnt.

Yes there is something so effortlessly cool about the big Guzzis from the 70s. If I ever park my 1975 T3 with a load of new Harleys and crotch rockets I always get the biggest crowd. Guzzi did lose their way in the late 80s but I think they have found their feet again now.
