I worked for VIZIO and 75% of their products are defects. They built to last only 1 year or so. No wonder they encourage customers to buy extended warranty. You get what you pay for

Vizio is the biggest POS ever, i got mine 10/06/09 and now it turns off, loses sound and volume automatically...luckily i returned this thing to walmart before the return policy was voided...what kinda company is this, tvs should last at least 10yrs not 2 months??? If you currently own a VIZIO HD TV , most likely you don't have a OTA TV Guide. This means u CAN NOT see upcoming TV shows if u push GUIDE but just the current show info. Other companies have this feature standard while VIZIO is trying to cut cost saving them $2 per Tv set!

sounds like you've got dead pixels. Try it with something else like another PS3 or a 360. If it's stays, your screen is bad. Return it for another one.
Best hdtv brand seller is call Vizio and next is samsung. Sony went from third to six since they never change the price and all you are looking there is not quality is BRAND AND PRICE.
Pretty good. However I'm through with LCD's. I've seen many and tried many. LCD's are wayyy to pixelated on everything BUT blu-ray. You need to sit 30 feet back for it too show good. They are never crisp. Panasonic plasmas and very high end Sony LCD's are the way to go.
You get what you pay for. Vizio's are the cheapest for a reason. My piece of crap vizio came out of the box with a broken hdmi port. Couldn't get hi-def and the color was bad. Now I only have Samsung,Pansonic.
I just bought a 32" 1080P Vizio today and I am absolutely in love with it. My set works fabulous and the picture truly is unbeatable for the price. I would be very comfortable pitting this tv up against a Samsung! I think you just got a dud, hey it happens with EVERYTHING:-)
I have this model and it is all black, not silver on the bottom. I also love the mant inputs it has. I use it as a montor for my laptop as well. It produces a great picture at a great price . I got it for less than $900 brand new! I have had it for about a week and can't stop watching it. I haven't slept in days and.....zzz.
I bought it at WalMart right after Christmas. It was in their flyer at $899 and they didn't last long. I live right next to a WalMart & they sold out so I had to travel an hour to get one...but it was worth it. Used my AmEx card and got double the warranty. Yep yep! Good TV for me.

I refuse to buy an HDTv, gven the poor quality of the programming current on.
To fix this problem:
1) Get rid of the feminists who are controlling the program schedule and program purchasing decisions at the television networks.
2) Make DBS satellite tv affordable again. Why was I spending $60 / mo. on lots of channels I didn't want.
3) A History channel should feature historical documentaries 24/7.... a Science channel should be like PBS 24/7... MTV needs to go back to showing music videos.
my father works as a Electronics Systems Tech and he had a job where he had to install 6 Vizios in a lowes. It was 3 32" and 3 47". the lowes didnt want the tvs and my dad kept three with the wall mounts and my uncle has the 47" and my cousin plays his 360 and ps3 on it and the games look beautiful in HDMI and in composite hd. this tv has outstanding visual quality when in hd... but when you watch it with regular coax cable it looks horrible. if youre going to buy one of these use verizon or opt

To those comparing the 1600:1 contrast ratio of this tv to other manufacterers, don't. For starters many of those 10,000:1, 15,000:1, 20,000:1 yada yada are dynamic contrast ratios which are always rated much higher and secondly there is no standard contrast ratio to compare to as each manufacterer sets their own contrast ratios.

Depends on where you live. Somewhere on the web is a mapping program where you can enter your address and it will show you what type of stations you should be able to recieve with and without an external antenna. Google it.

Vizio may have okay picture quality but its longevity is pretty bad and its picture quality rapidly fades unlike most LCD HDTV's. For the life of me I don't know why we need hdtv,there's nothing wrong with the sets we have now.Everyone will have hdtv sets and get their old sets hooked up to a box that you will have to rent from the cable co. and in about 3 years a new way to view tv will come around and we have to change again.HDTV is a waste of time and money.
This tv is amazing.. full PERFECTLY sharp picture in 1920x1080 running off my gaming notebook via HDMI. btw.. this is the best looking LCD I've ever seen after the speakers are removed (8 total screws, and extremely easy to remove..)
And yea, the speakers on it do suck.. but if your shelling out for a near 50" 1080P LCD in the first place, you probebly should already have a nice 5.1 or 7.1,+ audio setup like I do.

The first LCD and Plasma TV's that were installed in airports across the country back in 1999 are still in service,AND THEY NEVER TURN THEM OFF!!!!

You get what you pay for. Vizio's are the cheapest for a reason. My piece of crap vizio came out of the box with a broken hdmi port. Couldn't get hi-def and the color was bad. Now I only have Samsung,Pansonic.

I just bought a 32" 1080P Vizio today and I am absolutely in love with it. My set works fabulous and the picture truly is unbeatable for the price. I would be very comfortable pitting this tv up against a Samsung! I think you just got a dud, hey it happens with EVERYTHING:-)

I have this model and it is all black, not silver on the bottom. I also love the mant inputs it has. I use it as a montor for my laptop as well. It produces a great picture at a great price . I got it for less than $900 brand new! I have had it for about a week and can't stop watching it. I haven't slept in days and.....zzz.

I bought it at WalMart right after Christmas. It was in their flyer at $899 and they didn't last long. I live right next to a WalMart & they sold out so I had to travel an hour to get one...but it was worth it. Used my AmEx card and got double the warranty. Yep yep! Good TV for me.

I refuse to buy an HDTv, gven the poor quality of the programming current on.
To fix this problem:
1) Get rid of the feminists who are controlling the program schedule and program purchasing decisions at the television networks.
2) Make DBS satellite tv affordable again. Why was I spending $60 / mo. on lots of channels I didn't want.
3) A History channel should feature historical documentaries 24/7.... a Science channel should be like PBS 24/7... MTV needs to go back to showing music videos.

my father works as a Electronics Systems Tech and he had a job where he had to install 6 Vizios in a lowes. It was 3 32" and 3 47". the lowes didnt want the tvs and my dad kept three with the wall mounts and my uncle has the 47" and my cousin plays his 360 and ps3 on it and the games look beautiful in HDMI and in composite hd. this tv has outstanding visual quality when in hd... but when you watch it with regular coax cable it looks horrible. if youre going to buy one of these use verizon or opt

To those comparing the 1600:1 contrast ratio of this tv to other manufacterers, don't. For starters many of those 10,000:1, 15,000:1, 20,000:1 yada yada are dynamic contrast ratios which are always rated much higher and secondly there is no standard contrast ratio to compare to as each manufacterer sets their own contrast ratios.

The first LCD and Plasma TV's that were installed in airports across the country back in 1999 are still in service,AND THEY NEVER TURN THEM OFF!!!!

other than the fact that it's a 1080p tv, what's really important is the tv's upscaling
abilities to improve the picture qualities

Just bought this tv for $1278, great tv but i must say that this guy is full of S*%t. he said that 1600:1 contrast ratio is great, its really not. that is on the low end of the spectrum, anyway its a great tv for the price

seen this tv was tested in consumer reports and had very good reviews especialy for the money.definetly a best buy.rated higher than name brand 3000-4000$ tv's.

Depends on where you live. Somewhere on the web is a mapping program where you can enter your address and it will show you what type of stations you should be able to recieve with and without an external antenna. Google it.

Not necessarily. Vizio's are made by various TV manufacturers which may include Sony, LG, Samsung, and others, or none of the above. Vizio keeps prices low via manufacturing contracts and wide distribution (Remember Dell?) -- nearly all stores carry Vizio.

It should look nearly as good. I'd buy this bigger t.v. Than a smaller t.v. Yea Vizio's mainly come from LG which is a well established trusted name brand.

Vizio may have okay picture quality but its longevity is pretty bad and its picture quality rapidly fades unlike most LCD HDTV's. I'm a tech head and I have quite extensively researched the world of HDTV's.After reading hundreds of customer and technical reveiws their have been numerous accounts of Vizios catching on fire and one report of it exploding!Lol,Im not kidding people.If you were watching this video to look for a cheap and reliable HDTV trust me and do your research,Vizio isnt the one.

For the life of me I don't know why we need hdtv,there's nothing wrong with the sets we have now.Everyone will have hdtv sets and get their old sets hooked up to a box that you will have to rent from the cable co. and in about 3 years a new way to view tv will come around and we have to change again.HDTV is a waste of time and money.

This tv is amazing.. full PERFECTLY sharp picture in 1920x1080 running off my gaming notebook via HDMI. btw.. this is the best looking LCD I've ever seen after the speakers are removed (8 total screws, and extremely easy to remove..)
And yea, the speakers on it do suck.. but if your shelling out for a near 50" 1080P LCD in the first place, you probebly should already have a nice 5.1 or 7.1,+ audio setup like I do.
