When I talk about my ideas on black nationalism and pan-africanism my friends always think I'm being racist. My friends also think I'm an extremist because I personally favor Malcolm X over Martin Luther King Jr and other civil rights leaders.

There seems to be a lot of discourse around the term feminism. Once again a little history needs to be studied. Feminism was the check on minuscule progress of blacks coming out of the Civil Rights Movement. The people who read these events and tried to counter them earliest were black women. As I wrote before unless the youth read between the lines and looks beneath the surface they will be fighting to reinvent the wheel.
Any kind of movement is built upon an ideology. The unending conferences, books, dvds etc. should let us know that our ideology is already in place. Black colleges are struggling to get funding. Well to do blacks aren't giving their money to these instittuions, it's government aid more than anything else, which is a shame.

Back during the 80s and 90s there were numerous stories of black parents who took over urban inner city schools and the academic achievement skyrocketed. These were institutions that should have been the foundation of a glorius advancement. When we understand what forces came together to destroy this we can begin the building again.

This country has changed drastically since the 60's and so has the min-set's and mantalities of our people.Brother Malcolm said "the price of freedom is death".When we(leaders) incorporate that as a philosofy we will then see ourselves closer to achieving "Black nationalism".

You cannot compare Black American nationalism to any other form of nationalism. Other ethnic forms of nationalism involved a group of people who had their own language and culture distinct from the colonizer/oppressor. We have to write the book on this form of nationalism. dont be afraid to say you are superior to your enemy; unless you have a deep inferiority complex and desire for your enemy. Most men in socities where men control, hate women. Separation is the solution.

There are Black Men right now that is building The Righteous Kingdom for our people and any other people that have the will to be right and do right. They are independent. They have farmland, food stores, housing, clothing, transportation, schools and more. They do it because it is now time for the black man to wake up as it is written. There seems to be a lot of discourse around the term feminism. Once again a little history needs to be studied. Feminism was the check on minuscule progress of blacks coming out of the Civil Rights Movement. The people who read these events and tried to counter them earliest were black women. As I wrote before unless the youth read between the lines and looks beneath the surface they will be fighting to reinvent the wheel.

I just think we need to look at what is influencing our community and how it helps or hurts. The feminist movement has not been about the best interests of our community. The truth is the lack of black men in our families clearly has hurt our community. The destruction of black men in every way you can think of globally has led us to this sorry condition many of us are in.

@ifama I don't think it's a matter of men-hating women but more of a lack of knowledge of self. If the black men have no knowledge of self, the same follows for us black women. It's a 2 way street and we must do it together, not as women, not as men, but as a unified, organized group. Calling oneself queen or king without a nation has about as much power as calling for black nationalism. (see following post)

Black colleges are struggling to get funding. Well to do blacks aren't giving their money to these instittuions, it's government aid more than anything else, which is a shame.
I find it interesting that feminist ideology comes out of your speech about black nationalism. You say very little about the negative attitudes black women have towards black men and how their attitudes (as well as black men's) contribute greatly to the division between us.

Go to any locality where there is a significant black population and you will find an area that was once an oasis of black economic development that is now a slum. Back during the 80s and 90s there were numerous stories of black parents who took over urban inner city schools and the academic achievement skyrocketed. These were institutions that should have been the foundation of a glorius advancement. When we understand what forces came together to destroy this we can begin the building again.

The only way that they can is that we control them, finance them, design the curriculum for Nation building and what is produced (i.e. graduated) from them, build on that foundation for the Black Nation. I agree with you assertion of what it is today. However, as I have alluded to, it would seem that after all these years, some of this promotion and training should have developed into the manfestation of the MODEL. There is no model to follow after almost 40 years. Black instutions that were fomulated and I can name many, for the most part the surviving one are antiquated and very dependent on those outside of our group.
