Ive seen this movie before, and would greatly like to own it. Sad that it doesn't come on often enough. Nor is it available for purchase. Its a real gem. Thank you for posting.
"Here's why we love pre-code talkies..." AMEN!!!! This is just divine- the way it's played, the actors, everything! I think anyone who believes that black and white movies are stodgy and boring should be required to watch this! Hooray for pre-code and thank you for posting it!!
Oh this movie is wonderful. Could you tell me where you get it? I have this movie too but the quality is terrible *sigh*
The part where Sonia pretended to be sleepwalking is charming too. And so funny! Oh I always love John Barrymore. I can't understand why the hell he was not even nominated for Oscar!
John Barrymore, known in Hollywood as "the face" , and this film also starred Lionel Barrymore as the inspector matching wits with Lupin. The dialogue was sharp and I wish someone would release this to DVD format.

There certainly was and always will be a special charm carried with the films of yesteryear when compared with the trash of today.

This is a great film, and Karen Morley is always outstanding as usual in all the films I have seen her in! I love pre-code films!

John Barrymore was called the "Great Profile" not "the face." How I adore him!
