Is this Muay Thai fighter Korean or Thai? He is kinda fair so I'm assuming Korea. I've noticed that Korean trained Muay Thai fighters taking on TKD fighters in Korea always outclassed and seem to have a weaker balance. Whereas Thailand trained Thai Muay Thai fighters seem to have a sturdy balance and their bodies are like stone. They simply walk down the TKD fighter with brute force. No style is superior, but look at the videos and you'll see the difference.
@goukimess Good point. and the MT fighter is korean as well. The only times i see a TKD fighter winning against muay thai is when the people are both korean. One trained TKD (which korea is best at) other trained in muay thai (which korea isnt even known for). the so called "muay thai" they teach in korea isnt authentic. Its called kyuktooki (koreas virsion of kickboxing). Every Thai fighter i seen has walked through any tkd fighter. Koreans seem to love these kinda vids though lol.

@hazza3 They were not designed for real combat. The only one that was used back in the day was Taekyun which is today TKD and the various styles u mentioned. Just go ask anyone in korea and ull see how dumb u sound. The funnier thing is, I've never seen a successful TKD person become a champ in any combat organization, while i see many MT, Kyokushin, or Kickboxers become champs. Like i said TKD has its pros, but its NOT intended for real fighting in the first place.

Chute Box was actually originally a Taekwondo gym lead by everybody who does Muay Thai in Brazil can trace their lineage to a few guys: Rudimar Fedrigo(4th dan) , Luis Alves, Flavio Molina, Nelio Naja, and a couple other guys who trained under the same Master in the 70's.
The name Chute Box comes from a Cartoon called "Sawamu", based on the Original Kickboxer. Chute Box was the name of the Thai fighter he fought.
Thai fighting is more applicable in a fight. It's usually a fluke when a TKD guy wins seriously. How come MMA fighters aren't training in TKD then? Because it's flashy and usually ineffective.

I did TKD when I was younger for two years and never once used it in any of my fights in the shitty neighborhoods of LA. I DID however use my boxing, kickboxing, Judo and grappling in streetfights. TKD is worthless man.
@Rikashiku Look at the Chuteboxe website's history. They were a Muay Thai gym first (he trained in TKD then switched to muay thai) and incorporated BJJ in 1991. They don't use TKD because it doesn't work! Fedrigo said in his interview on sherdog when muay thai became popular in Brazil in the 1970's he trained in it because it was a more practical and effective art. Taekwondo was taught by 9 legendary teachers to several military factions. The MCMAP was based on Chong chul Rhee's style of Taekwondo. MMA is only intended for Sports, not real fighting.

Is this Muay Thai fighter Korean or Thai? He is kinda fair so I'm assuming Korea. I've noticed that Korean trained Muay Thai fighters taking on TKD fighters in Korea always outclassed and seem to have a weaker balance. Whereas Thailand trained Thai Muay Thai fighters seem to have a sturdy balance and their bodies are like stone. They simply walk down the TKD fighter with brute force. No style is superior, but look at the videos and you'll see the difference.

One trained TKD (which korea is best at) other trained in muay thai (which korea isnt even known for). the so called "muay thai" they teach in korea isnt authentic. Just go ask anyone in korea and ull see how dumb u sound. The funnier thing is, I've never seen a successful TKD person become a champ in any combat organization, while i see many MT, Kyokushin, or Kickboxers become champs. Like i said TKD has its pros, but its NOT intended for real fighting in the first place.

Chute Box was actually originally a Taekwondo gym lead by everybody who does Muay Thai in Brazil can trace their lineage to a few guys: Rudimar Fedrigo(4th dan) , Luis Alves, Flavio Molina, Nelio Naja, and a couple other guys who trained under the same Master in the 70's.
The name Chute Box comes from a Cartoon called "Sawamu", based on the Original Kickboxer. Chute Box was the name of the Thai fighter he fought.
Muay Thai wasn't added until the late 80's.

@Rikashiku Look at the Chuteboxe website's history. They were a Muay Thai gym first (he trained in TKD then switched to muay thai) and incorporated BJJ in 1991. They don't use TKD because it doesn't work! Fedrigo said in his interview on sherdog when muay thai became popular in Brazil in the 1970's he trained in it because it was a more practical and effective art. By 1995, the Chute Boxe team was considered a prime training ground for Vale Tudo fighters. In 2004, an American branch, Chute Boxe USA, was established in Los Angeles, California.

@Rikashiku Yes they do. They basically teach Muay Boran (the older style of Muay Thai). Think its called Ledrit but its basically justl ike Boran. Point is, its a style thats similar to Muay Thai. US Army teaches Basic Jiu Jitsu which is really watered down version of Gracie Combatives and later one they DO teach Muay Thai. No1 hardly uses TKD.. you guys are just in denial over an art that EVEN the Korean THEMSELVES have admitted its NOT so useful for combat. just get over it.

Other than the Korean one, most of the world either use Muay Thai, BJJ, or just use MMA as a whole package. Define TRADITIONAL for me, please. Because Muay Thai is actually 50 years older than Taekwondo, MMA is 2,000 years older.
Taekwondo was taught by 9 legendary teachers to several military factions. The MCMAP was based on Chong chul Rhee's style of Taekwondo. MMA is only intended for Sports, not real fighting.

If you train in MMA, which i highly doubt, u should realize TKD isn't a legit combat system. By traditional i mean older single style martial arts like karate, judo etc. MMA can be used for combat as well if u take out the minor rules. TKD was only tought when it was thought to be effective. Now its all MMA. go look up
