Ok now im freaked, just watched the whole of the U.S version episode 1 and Harvey Kietel isn't in it, its that Irish dude who i dont know the name of. Wiki has no mention of him being in it either, just says Gene Hunt is played by Harvey. What happened, did he only play Gene in the first episode or something??

Yeah. A lot of things were changed from the pilot episode. I can't be sure but i believe almost all of the cast apart from jason o'mara were replaced following poor reception of the first episode. Colm Meaney played Gene Hunt in the first episode but the character was played by Harvey Kietel thereafter. Hope that helps.

I missed most of the last episode. But I saw how it ended. Shame on ABC for pulling another "St. Elsewhere" series ending. And for producing this mind-screw of a cop show, just for the propaganda value of helping NASA sell a Mars mission. I guess ABC is really Pro about blowing tax money on space, even during this economic mess. I should have known, seeing Harvey Keitel in a Tv role, that there was major corporate interests behind it.

Excellent. We need more of these type of shows. You can't fool the public. The public (the licence fee payers)knows what it likes and pc nonsense is not liked. An excellent series 1 and 2.
