I wish this video would show how to thread the holes. I read on amazon reviews that this was impossible so I am holding off on buying it.

I do agree with you, but I think it's just a matter of aligning the already punched paper with the other parts of the punch.

I agree! I already know how to line up the ribbon punch for the long stitches. Not helpful... Too many of Martha's tools need more explanation than is provided.
