theres no need to cool down the turbo since it has a large intercooler, it works well

@smrt1000 the turbo will cool down by itself along side with the engine. it would have been a much bigger problem if he would have opened the bonet. Conclusion turbo heating up is something expected, the main thing you should watch for is sudden cooldown (water or cold air), it is much more dangerous.

sportback just means 4(5) doors instead of 2(3)

Hi.

The 3 doors A3 also has the 3.2 liter V6 250 bhp engine, it was the first one to have it, since Sportback only appeared 2 years later, in 2005. ;-)

Offcourse the SB now also has the S3 2.0 TFSI 265 bhp engine. ;-)

This is the S3 has a 2.0TFSI, never had a 3.2l V6, that's the A3 Sport or now S-Line which had that engine, same as in the R32. They both have the same power output (give or take) but the S3 2.0 is much more fuel efficient and I would say a better all around sports car. 2.0TFSI is highly tunable too, a simple remap will take it to 300bhp, combined with breathing you're looking at close to 350bhp.

Yes, the S3 NEVER had a 3.2 L V6 engine, read my comment better (the A3 - not S3 - ALSO has the 3.2L V6 engine...) but the 3.2 L V6 exists in the A3, it is another motor for this car, off course it is not an alternative, it consumes more and it hasn`t the same efficiency as the S3... ;-)

Yup, its basically like the R32, but Evo mag say its a bit duller to drive.

I have driven the S3, great fun, grippy and nippy. But personally don't like the part time AWD system. Bit understerry for my liking. For the money they want for a good spec S3, I'd prefer to get my hands on a nice rwd number.

wow, the S3 hits 0-100km in 5.5 sec that is awesome, my brothers 2007 Golf GT-i takes bout 7 sec to hit a hundred, thats what happens when you have a front wheel drive :P I want this car bad, turbo charged 4wd hatch, that is so sweet makes me think of the Nissan GTI-r

Yes but the S3 is HALDEX which means it only transfers power when the front wheels slide. Most of the S3's 0-60mph time is due to the higher power output compared to the GTI. (extra 70bhp)

This IS A REALLY GREAT PACKAGE. U KNOW IN AMERICAN, AUDI ONLY GIVES 2.0 TFSI FWD, OR A HEAVY V6 AWD, AND ONLY 5 DOOR HATCH ARE OFFERED. I REALLY HOPE AUDI CAN BRING S3 TO AMERICA, CUZ NO ONE HAS EVER OFFERED A PACKAGE LIKE THIS: A PREMIUM I-4 TURBO AWD SPOTS HATCHBACK OR SMALL WAGON.

Get a golf GTI and tune it up slightly. With a remap your at 270bhp and 300 is possible. J Its the same car as the Audi S3, same engine, gearbox and chassis.

The AWD only works on the S3 when the front wheels spin so you don't notice it when your driving it about.

Quattro isn't a full-time 4WD system, it will only power all four wheels when it detects wheel spin up front.

That varies depending on what Quattro you got, there is Haldex and Torsen setups. Could be a big debate on which one is better

Hi! The Audi S3 has 265 bhp, not 256 ;-) And the weakest Porsche Cayenne has a 3.6 liter aspirated engine with 290 bhp, not a 2.0 TFSI (turbo) engine... :-)
