Flip cams have to be the best portable cameras ever to date, but why are people only comparing the Mino HD, Ultra HD is different, but Kodak Zi6 needs like 1,000,000,000 different programs to convert the files into usable things for editing software, as where Flip cams have built-in software upon plug in, and its an MPEG format, with works just about on anything, so in terms, Kodak is a Zune and Flip cams are iPods

Flip Ultra HD. Very Nice camera and only 170$ now you get 8 gigs 2 hours of video rechargable batteries software is built in to the camera only down sides you need to keep your hands steady.(Or just stand it up because you usually are able to wherever you go) and also the white contrast you cant fix so when it is darker it looks brighter than it actually is. a good point is great mics because there are two and great speakers and much easier to use than the kodak hope this helped.

Hey Chris, I would invest in a Class 6 SDHC card for your Kodak Zi6, I can almost guarantee that is what is causing your frame drops. I had a 4GB Class 4 SDHC card and was also experiencing the frame drops. But I pulled the 8GB Class 6 SDHC card from my Netbook and it fixed the problem. I was left with smooth clear video.

It must have something to do with the write speeds.

Yeah, the Kodak drops frames, but it's more noticeable if shooting at 60fps instead of 30fps and it only happpens in low light shooting. I don't know about you, but most cameras I've used suck in low-light settings.

Why do you get noise when there's low light?

The voltage difference between light differences in low light is so low, that in order to see it, it has to be amplified so much, that the noise of the electronic sensor chip becomes too great.

flip mino hd is way better in my opinion and it looks alot cooler than the kodak. the kodak may have a few more fetures built into the camera but that can be easily done with the flip by putting it on a program like imovie.

mino HD, i have one and its great! i just got it 4 days ago! things i dont light is the small screen.... it odesnt take pictures.... its not good in low light conditions.... I DONT KNOW HOW TO PAUSE RECORDING! but over all its great

Necraphisium the Flip's built in software allows you to take still photos from the videos that you take which is a very nive feature and i have found it to be very good. The software works both on mac and pc so its really good

I have the mino hd and because I play around with final cut express, the contrast isn't a big issue. Also, the Kodak Zi6 has better contrast, but the mino is a compact and the image quality is more realistic.
