It's hard to believe such a great film, has really been forgotten about. Nobody I know knows about this film. Such a powerful ending, and at times a reminder to cherish life and love the helpless stranger next to you.
I bought this movie a hundred years ago from a video store. I hadn't heard of it or Don McKellar at the time. I'm so glad I took a chance on it. It turned out to be one of my favorite movies. The ending is perfection.
I love how Sandra Oh and Don McKellar's characters find each other. THeir journey through this entire film was beautiful to watch. And that final kiss and embrace brings me to joyous tears.
I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS MOVIE FOR 10 YEARS i saw it on HBO or Cinemax back then finally found it, it is a great movie if you haven't seen it and like end of the world movies. It's suppose to shock you what you see and make you think of what you would do given the scenarios. Anyway if this were to happen i'd spend my last moments if i knew they were coming at my Mom's grave, she passed away very recently and was my best friend, i wanted her to see this movie, she'da loved it alot.
One of the most important films of the last twenty years. McKellar is a true genius, and the actors in this film are perfect in their roles.
I can understand people not 'getting' this film, but not how they can be so openly hostile about it. I mean, I've never said a word in anger because I didn't like a film - so what if I don't like it? It wasn't made just for me, and it would be pretty arrogant to assume that anything I don't like must be crap.
Nothing angers me more, tan stupid, inbreds. COYOTERUNNER- This movie's obviously too complicated for you. Cos it's SIMPLE: about love. "Liberals...' you're an idiot. That's why this countries doomed. unthinking twits who think they're grand, eloquent thougthful pontificators.
While I'm no fan of liberals, I can't say I understand what you mean here. If the world were about to end, I would prefer to see it spending time with the person I love most. Don't see whats so odious about that.
I happened to rent this movie a couple of years ago. I then *HAD* to get the DVD. There hasn't been a movie, before or after, that's had a greater impact on me and my perception of human life.
I agree with you completely! I just watched this again tonight - ten years later - and practically broke into uncontrollable sobs, just like the first time. Every time I hear this song, I think of this scene.
what is the name of the oriental actress in that steamy scene?I have a crush on her since I saw this movie years ago.I finally found it here by chance
they should do a prequel for this movie. chuck norris doesnt approve of this movie.

One of the most touching endings I've seen. And it's certainly one of the best Canadian movies ever made.

Most of this movie is boring...but I loved the final 5 minutes.

This was the time when movies had plots! instead of just covering it with expensive CGI like movies have now-a-days.

I always thought that a good song to have had on this movie's soundtrack would have been "Last Night Of The World" by Bruce Cockburn

I'm so thankful not to be in Don McKellar's head, but I'm also thankful that he allows us in sometimes.

This ending is so sad and unsettling. I saw it when I was little and I was waiting for them to shot, but I was so happy they didnt.
