  • i dont think theyve changed at all and i dont see why people say that. they sound the same and by that i mean amazing :D i love these guys!

  • the best one is matineeeeeeeee!?!!! wtf!!!

  • Can't. Stop. Pressing. Replay. <3

And they really should make a music video out of this...

  • love it, this is one of their best if not THE best. just a brilliant vibe, brilliant funky flow. and the drums are fucking fantastic! thumbs-up on both hands!

  • Nice Bass!!!!!!

  • Me encanta!!,no podía ser más apropiada,:D,gracias ALMU,por la recomendación..

  • Fellow youtubers! I apologize for narcicistic abuse of public posts, but I really want people to tell me what they think of the video in its entirety. Please read from the bottom up!

  • @jayindie93 nice idea

  • 7)Dante is seen within the confines of a prison cell, and flicks his wrists at the camera, as if sending it away. An epic end to an epic tale.

  • 6)Ezra tries to get up, as Dante looks through the broken window. He angrily rushes downstairs. Lucia quickly grabs the phone and reports the incident. Officer Noor receives the update, and calls for backup. Dante is now seen running down the street, gun in hand, right behind Ezra. At 2:54, Ezra tries to run the coner of the street, as Dante lines up his shot. 2:56 Ezra is shot in the back and falls to the floor. Dante is seen with a grimacing smile. 2:58 a swarm of cop cars arrive at the scene.

  • 5) (2:20) Dante appears at Lucia's door with a bouquet of flowers, thinking she was joking when she said no. He walks in to see Ezra caressing her while standing next to the bed. Ezra gives an intimidating look, and pulls out a switchblade from the backpcoket of his suede pajama pants. Luckily, Dante pulls out his gun, and locks and loads. Lucia get in the way and urges him not to shoot.Dante points the gun at Ezra, then Lucia grabs him and pulls him down. Ezra jumps out of Lucia's 2story window

  • 4)Officer Noor, whose brother was killed during the first scene, hopes to avenge his loss by ridding the world of Dante Vicenzo.(1:38-1:44) Noor watches Dante head back to HQ, while patrolling in his cop car. The next scene involves anoher back and forth between Dant and Ezra with Lucia at her apartment. They both urge her to let him stay the night, but she tells Dante no, only because she had just finished telling Ezra yes. Dante laughs as Lucia flicks her wrists as if to Send Him Away.

  • 3) In the next scene, Dante sneaks into Manger when Ezra heads to the bathroom. ('Well I don't mean to claim or own you...") Back and forth frames between Dante and Ezra talking to Lucia. Dante then sees Ezra at Lucia's apartment, indicating that they may have just gotten through with intercourse. Dante picks up Lucia's sheets, sniffs them ("still warm fold of your sheets..") When "Send Him Away" is repeated , many frames of murder are shown one after the other. Bob is killed during this scene.

  • 2) In the first scene, Dante is sitting in his swivel chiar, staring out the window, as Lucia walks into Manger with Ezra Ferucci (the head of the opposite mob) and glares with anger. He slowly turns around when he hears his men bring in a brutally beaten cop who's been on their track for years now. When the line "well I don't care his breath.." several angles of the beaten cop are shown, and Dante flicks his wrist, allowing the boys to finish him off. Two flicks of the wrist means Send Him Away

  • 1) Alright, It's been killing me, so I just want to describe the video idea in full detail. This may take a few posts, so bear with me. Alex would be the leader of a notorious mob in the 1960's, who is feuding with another territorial mob. Alex(known as Dante Vicenzo) has 3 main main (played by Nick, Paul, and Bob) who help him do his dirty work. Their headquarters is situated across the street from Manger, a fancy Italian restaurant, where Dante catches the eye of the beautiful Lucia Portono.

  • *3 main men

  • holy shit I usually listen to marilyln manson pantera and nine inch nails, so I listen to heavy music, but franz ferdinand is so good, I just can't stop listening to it! especially this song, it's magical!

  • Think i´m getting this album, i like the keyboard in the back, reminds me of the doors :D

  • This album is far deeper and better-done than the preceding two. The preceding two were fairly standard in subject matter, though much more interesting than most pop-rock albums, but this album is like they took a cheesy pop album and made every song its opposite.

    Ulysses - Drugs are GOOD

No You Girls - The problem is with the MAN

Send Him Away - I DON'T feel jealous

Bite Hard - NOT believing in God is liberating

Live Alone - NOT cohabiting is awesome.

  • @DelphinusMAch1

I could've sworn "Bite Hard" was about a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde couple, who went around committing several crimes. I see where your coming from with the whole religion thing, but that was just a metaphor, and the reason it's called "Bite Hard" is because the two are always breaking up and getting back together, so when they commit a 505 (grand theft auto) they have so much to say, but bite their tongues instead, because they're still being chased by the cops.

  • 0:00 - 0:12 - Loveee that guitar opening

  • This is my favorite song from "tonight".

  • um giligans island lol

  • jayindie93 I know exactly waht your talking about... great idea!!!!

    Can't wait to see it.

  • This album cheers you up,Franz Ferdinand are right:"You can listen to this album before going out." :)

  • @Trigger07:

I TOTALLY agree, it's not that they don't make good music, it's just that their songs ALL sound the same (or at least the same feel), which is why I like Franz much better- they have a wider range of songs.

  • Love it :) it has some kinda of african beat

  • send him away, please

  • they finally diagnose it correctly

and confine me to a sanatorium

  • I am absolutely PISSED that this was never used for a video! I can inagine EVERY little detail of it- The Franz boys would be Italian mobsters and Alex, of course, would be the mob leader; "Send Him Away" would be code for "Have him killed" (sorta like "swim with the fishes").

Whhile in the usual business of roughing up mob spies, Alex catches the eye of a beautiful Italian girl, who is also secretly having a relationship with the head of the OPPOSITE mob, and Alex kills anyone in his way.

  • great idea! lets film it ;)

  • @hellsugaroO

It would have to be a non-canon video, and besides I CAN'T lip-synch to save my life...T_T

  • @jayindie93

wow, that sounds amazing. they totally should've made a video for this song.

    <3 FF!

  • @foreverbells

Thank you! I have knack for these kind of things...perhaps I'll grow up to be a director...

  • @jayindie93

    go for it!!! (:

  • @foreverbells

I very much appreciate the support! You're far too kind.

  • @jayindie93

    haha! thanks, I try. (x

  • @jayindie93 That is an AWESOME video idea-never would've considered doing something like that. I would've LOVED to see that! Maybe you could pass it on to them ;). Heh.

I love this song, it's one of my favorites from the album. Got a '60s sort of Zombies-ish vibe about it. Track 4 seems to be where the band puts some of their best songs on each album-this one, "Walk Away" on the 2nd album, "Dark Of The Matinee" on the first...

  • @jayindie93 well you're just awesome :)

  • @TheJovanist

Why thank you, good sir! I just have a very vivid imagination. :D

  • @jayindie93 you should know that I made an effort to log in to like your beast of a comment

  • @n200518

I am truly humbled. I suppose I should take up writing/directing, since the concepts I come up with happen almost instantaneously.

  • 1:40 - > samba !? :D fucking nice

  • Just fucking awesome!!!!!.... really love the rythm of this song... now O´m wondering wich one is my favourite.. send him away or Fade together... opinions???

  • I really can't decide if the best album of 2009 is this or the resistance

    probably both

  • Franz ferdiniand are better than muse, in my opinion

  • sometimes they sometimes muse

    according to my mood

  • fair enough :)

  • Muse' songs are too repetitive for my taste. They all kind of sound the same to me, and i have heard all of them.

  • This reminds me of Tom Petty's Breakdown song. They're totally different songs though. Franz Ferdinand FTW!

  • Love how the bass switches up at 0:36.. Love the bassist period...and I'm a drummer

  • Comment removed

  • i freaking love this song too

  • idk the beginning has like an awesome pirate theme to it lol I LOVE THIS BAND THEIR AWESOME

  • is it me or does this song have a faint Doors sound to it.. Listen to the moog to hear what I hear.

  • i really love the beginning, the bass, the background and the chorus...So "eclectic" song & rythms! :)

  • the beginning is a REGGAE! Franz Ferdinand POWA! Great album!

  • I love the chorus

  • Best part 1:40 to 1:48

    Is god!!! Franz Ferdinand RULES!!!

  • it sounds like 80's until 1.55 and then it gets like 60's haha...cool

  • i think it sounds more like a sea shanty in the beginning

  • Yap you'r right xP

  • Comment removed

  • hope they do play it live sometimes! love the summer vibe it has = D

  • wanker is a funny word for everyone! :D

  • í love this song!! it's so cool! listen to the background ... and the bass and EVERYTHING!! the best part is this here:

    1.40-3.00

  • Though it's weird, I love how the song completely changes pace half way through. GO FRANZ!

  • i like everything about this songg

  • OH NOOOO !!! they had to continue the last riff for a big solo!!!

  • then they would not be Franz Ferdinand but another stereotypical band

  • Malmsteen sucks and im not talking about a supersolo like he does. Im talking about a real solo. what is a real solo? it only can be resumed by the word feeling!

  • Franz Ferdinand`s songs are very alike(:

    But I like themm(:

  • This has an awesome guitar

  • I love this song but it has a really poor ending.

  • I agree.

  • The lyrics are "Still warm fold", not "still on fold". Aren't they? That's what it says in the album booklet, anyway.

One of my fave songs from the new album. <3

  • hmmm... difficult one. i was thinking a lot when i wrote the lyrics. are you sure it's ''warm''? if you really saw it on the album booklet, i'll fix this. tnx

  • I'll double check...

Yeah, it says "The still-warm fold of your sheets". :3

  • tnx, then. :)

  • am i sick? i thought it was " stillborn fold of your sheets" , um, some sort of morbid imagery idk

  • cro875 wat ru on about if u dont like the song why u listening to it

  • best song from the new album the middle is the best beginning at 1.39

  • Ya my favorite song from the new CD. I do like the new CD but why did they have to change? There old stuff was by far the most refreshing and catchy stuff I had ever heard.

  • fave from album?? lol, this is worst to me... :D

no matter they changed, they still have great music... great album if you ask me! ;)

  • i bet your favourite song is kathrine kiss me amirite?XD

  • @CRO875

Dude, this track is just killer! A classic tale of the temptress and the tempted, with an Italian mafia twist. How could you not love it?

  • yer bt it stopped being refreshing didn't it, cos it was old. so they tried (and failed imho) to explore new territories, and came out wiv stuff that tbh sounds like their last two

  • I agree with this persons opinion, under the impression they're really quite knowledgable. I haven't even heard of alot of the words that were used! But 'wiv' and 'imho' paint a powerful message of understanding their topic. Thank you harryspoonpotter, you tool of youtube :)

  • if we're going to nit-pick you pretentious and pedantic wanker, you missed out the apostrophe on person's. the point i was tryin to make, is that although it was good that franz ferdinand attempted to branch out on that record, it is annoying that they left much of the rest of the album similar to the first two, while saying in interviews they were attempting to do new things stylistically. So, in my humble opinion, they failed to achieve what they were tryig to do, and really just played safe.

  • wanker is a fun word for us americans.

  • Well, Harryspponpotter, if you were more attentive to FF interviews, you might also have heard Alex's statement that "We're one of these bands that are always gonna sound the same no matter what we do", just like any other bands, really.

  • Yes but I've read another interview in which they state something along the lines of "We banned the hi-hat lift beat we always used from this record to try and freshen up our sound". However, they still use it on a lot of the album. So he's not always a reliable source in interviews.

  • my fave. song from the album! =)

  • its like proper old school franz ferdinand
