  • hell yeah man, the power of a 44 mag in a package that feels like a 357 mag.

41 mag is kinda like the 10mm of the revolver world

  • @HunterKiller308 No it's not you dumbass

  • @hankhillinthisbiotch the .41 mag feels like a 357 and has the power of a 44 mag. the 10mm feels like a 45acp and is more powerful than a 357, but less powerful than a 41 mag. you have no idea what your talking about dude

  • @HunterKiller308 Actually I became an instant 10mm fan when it first came out, because it has close to 41 mag ballistics.

  • love this gun, i think cops need to carry bigger guns. if you think about it cops are hitting guys with the 9mm and some times these guys are still moving. if you hit them with this 41 mag once, they are going down and goodnight.

  • gotta love the m57, it would be a little more popular if they made 41 specials. having to trim down 50 sucks! Anyone try loading any 41 specials before? I cant find alot of info.

  • @41maglover If you look at most reloading manuels, there are light loads for the 41mag that would be similar to a 41special with out having to reduce the case length.

  • Damn, your stock just went up a shit ton. I love .40s&w for pistols and 41mag for wheel guns. Good shit.

  • @MegaGevehr LOL thanks bro!! I hope things are going well for you. Thanks for stopping by!!!

  • @GunznGear I had a S&W 357pd in 41 mag. I loved the sights, trigger pull, and look of the gun, but gawd dayuuuum it hurt to shoot. I don't think the 41 mag was really meant for 19oz hand guns though. Right now I'm in the market for a Model 57.

  • @MegaGevehr I know what you mean. I tried the 329 version... once! Shooting 44mag loads were painful to say the least. The 57's and 657's are great. I have a 657 Lew Horton custom w/ a 3" barrel, and that is my favorite 41mag, that I've owned so far.

  • @GunznGear If you have a 657, let me throw this idear at ya. I have a 629 that I load up w/ black powder. Insanely fun to shoot. Sounds like artillery, lol. Give some black powder .41 mag ammo a go. Low velocity and messy but should be fine with a a stainless steel revolver.

  • @MegaGevehr LOL I bet that's a lot of fun!! I used to load up some 45lc black powder loads yrs back. Instant smoke screen!!!

  • glad i stumbled on to this video. Just made me subcribe. thanks

  • @gundeprieved I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by

  • Great video and background explanation. I've owned a S&W Model 57 for many years. The greatest disadvantage I've encountered is ammunition cost and availability. I now hand load and try to buy components when available (produced seasonally). Eventually I hope to buy a 41 caliber lever action to compliment. Look forward to more of your videos.

  • @patriot2674 The ammo choices and cost are difficult. I would love to get one of Marlins 41mag lever actions!!

  • They did make the Model 58 which was a Model Ten but in .41 Magnum

  • @Gladeator123 I think I mentioned the model 58, it was a fixed sight revolver built on the N frame. The model 10 was a K frame, fix sight 38spcl. I have a model 10 and it's a great shooter. Thanks

  • @GunznGear My bad, I also believe that the SFPD Authorized and issued them to officers in the 70's

  • @Gladeator123 Cool! I knew a few rural PD's used them. Do you mean San Francisco Police Dept??

  • @Gladeator123 Yes, Dirty Harry clearly chose the wrong gun

  • Load it with a 175gr Winchester Silvertip and it will stop anything that moves.

  • @Gladeator123 I do like the silver tips!!

  • I had the opportunity to fire my buddies model 657 when I was up north never really had quite the desire for a large frame revolver until I handled his just bought a Sig Sauer Revolution the other day though so probably be a while before I buy another

  • @JesseLJohnson 657 makes a great field handgun. Thanks

  • I am a big fan of it. My point is that the .44 is only slightly larger than the .41.

  • @floridafyme Very true, Thanks!

  • The .44 Rem. mag. is actually .429 caliber: bullet diameter.

  • @floridafyme and your point is? This vid is about 41 Remington magnum. I thought you were a fan of the 41mag.

  • Beautiful wheel guns man, I have never fired a 41 magnum before, but it sounds like a good round

  • @brotherskeepers111 Thanks bro! The 41mag is a great round.

  • Nice guns. 44Mag is so useful because it will shoot 44spl--covers field work and self defence.

  • indeed my friend cheers....

  • @Blk05titan26 Thanks

  • Those are some beautiful revolvers. I knew absolutely nothing about the 41 magnum before watching this video. Thanks for sharing.

  • @gunnwild1 Thanks for the kind words bro!!

  • Didn't show in mah sub box wtf.

  • @AssWiper19 Yeah, my sub page didn't add new vids for 2 days, and I stopped getting vids from some channels completely.

  • 41 magnum is like 6.8 spc, great cartridge but for some reason it never became popular.

  • @e1ghtys1x The 41 does have a solid fan base. 6.8 is another good cartridge. Thanks

  • Awsome, man!!!! I'm gonna buy me a S&W model 57 right now!!! Well, actually, tomorrow, now everything's closed... :-( ;-)

  • @NC77583 Haha well if you get one, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine! Thanks

  • @GunznGear I sure will, my friend!!

  • @GunznGear I sure will, my friend!!

  • @GunznGear I sure will, my friend!!

  • I'm with you Van that round should have been a BIG hit. Those revolvers are beautiful. Very good info my friend.

  • @Mr45Bullitt Sometimes I wonder why such great chamberings like the 41mag aren't more popular. I wish Dirty Harry would have carried a model 57!! lol Thanks my friend

  • Three very nice S&W pistols! :)

  • i know a sheriff that carried this cartridge until he retired..

  • @Blk05titan26 I bet he's a 41magnum fan also. Thanks

  • Very interesting. Thanks for the education. Thumbs up!!!

  • @glynn72 Glad you liked it! Thanks

  • Good stuff! Thanks for the education!

  • @CTKTMRIDER Thanks for watching!! I'm glad you liked it

  • You got my attention with the 950gr bullet...lol But yeah the 41 is a great one. Getting hard to find these days.

  • @dragonballjiujitsu LOL sometimes there's a disconnect btwn my brain and my mouth! The 41 still has a loyal following, but it's not as popular as I would like it to be. Thanks

  • Thanks for the video Van , couldn`t agree more on .41 Magnum pistol cartridge.

  • @1278dave Thanks for watching, I'm glad you liked it!

  • another great tutorial Van! im gonna call you when i get home..The wife & i are down in fla. for the week & having a well deserved,& needed vacation! 8) now i want a revover! talk to you next week my brutha!

  • @1dabirdman I hope you're having a great time!! Love the revolvers! Take care my friend!!!

  • Cool video sir! What an awesome collection you have! :-)

  • @BobcatSchneidermann Thank you, I appreciate it!

  • Damn wimps not being able to handle the cool guns!

  • @FireArmsResQ That's what hurt the 10mm.... panzies!! lol

  • Great video man! You know I love my revolvers.

I'm really being drawn more and more to the 480s.

I dont know if it's really considered obscure but the 327 seems like a cool round too.

  • @FireArmsResQ Thanks bro, I'm glad you liked the vid!

I think the 480 never caught on b/c it came out after the 454casul, and it's not nearly as powerful.

Jury is still out on the 327. It's still new, but watch the ammo companies and if they continue to offer it w/ new premium ammunition.

  • @FireArmsResQ

I love my S&W 500 but damn that things brutal man! Love powerhouse guns but after 25-30 rounds that thing hurts too shoot and you're sore 3 days after shooting the damn thing. It's like giving yourself Carpal Tunnel syndrome =P

I'll eventually get something between a 357 and 500. 480 seems sweet but there's just not much support for it. Not many ammo choices. Looks like I might have to eventually get a .44 Magnum.

  • I have always liked the 41 mag. Round. Great video.

  • @ChromeFreak123 Thanks, I've been a big fan for a long time.

  • .41 Mag = 10mm. I concur, great revolver cartridge. My Da has a Blackhawk in .41 and it's a pistol that everyone can enjoy shooting, even the girls in our family. Your collection never ceases to amaze me. Keep up the great vids.

  • @wimplos Thanks for your comment!

  • It's called the 41 gnr .

  • @chavezchavez556 That's smoking!!

  • Great video ! I love the 41 mag . You should check out my tribute to the 41 mag video I have on my channel. My good friend just bought a contender that shoots a 44 mag necked down to a .41 bullet created by Gary Reeder. I shoots a 240 grn bullet @ 1900 fps !

  • @chavezchavez556 Thanks, I be sure to check out your vid!

  • Excellent video! I own a .357, .44, and a .460. Ive never had the pleasure to shoot a .41. Ill have to see about finding one. Good stuff!

  • @LegendSexy I like my 357's and my 44's, but I'm a big 41mag fan. Thanks

  • Your 57 mountain gun is Beautiful.

  • @davidsquall351 Thanks

  • Nice video, take care.

  • @ewtoutdoors Thanks for stopping by!!

  • Dont forget to wipe them down with some Rusty's Rags, same as I do with mine....

  • @freakshow2000 Great product!! You can see the plastic bag on the left hand side in the vid.

  • I have the Ruger BlackHawk in 41 Mag. I would say a great hog, gator gun but just to much to be by the bed side....

  • @freakshow2000 The Ruger Blackhawk is awesome! Thanks

  • Great vid my friend ... I have been waiting for this one.

  • @ebomey I'm glad you liked it buddy!! Thanks

  • @GunznGear

    You know it!

    The kids are on blogtv.

  • wow

  • @SonsOfLiberty65 Thanks

  • ★★★★★

Those are great looking Revolvers. I have a Smith & Wesson Model 29 (44 Magnum). It looks very similar to your 41 Magnums (the one with the longest barrel). You can't beat a Smith & Wesson Revolver!

  • @TheMultiGunMan Thanks bro!! The only difference btwn the model 29 and the model 57 is the size of the holes. They are great revolvers!

  • That's a beautiful 4" N-Frame. I also love the 41 Magnum.

  • @DTesch357 It is a great chambering!! Thanks

  • Skeeter Skelton was one of the three that pushed for the 41 mag. Forgotten by most but a great story teller and author. The 41 mag suffered from "magnumitis' just like the 10mm and came in at the begining of the 9mm craze. There are cutom DA revolvers in a 41 special that give you the original spec ballistics in a nice little package and there are the taurus 41 5 shooters that I have no expeirence with. Nice vid and thank you

  • @doomcannon445 I have read some articles that include Skeeter, and some that don't, so that's why I said what I did. Remingtons first two offerings were both 210gr, one moving at 1500fps and the other at around 1150fps. If they would have offered a 900 - 950 fps, 200gr bullet as suggested; in a smaller/lighter frame gun, I believe it would have become an instant success w/ LEO's. The 41 special was actually brought to Colt in the 30's for their Police Postive, but they never did anything w/ it.

  • @GunznGear not trying to pick shit with the chickens but are you talking about the 41 colt that came out in the 1880's? There are custom made GP-100's and L frame smiths made into 5 shot revolvers using a shortened 41 mag case.

  • @doomcannon445 Me either, checkout Americian Handgunner Nov/Dec 2003 (it's on line) The article: The .41mag Turns 40 by John Taffin

"Colt came oh-so close to producing a true .41 in 1932. Both the Official Police and the New Service revolvers were chambered in 41 Colt Special." John T. suggests that Colt shelved the project due to the depression. That article also speaks of custom guns like you spoke of.

I know a derringer was also made in 41 in the late 1800's. I believe it was a rim fire.

  • @GunznGear hot damn I learned something ! Thanks for the article Taffin's one of the best ink slingers of the current bunch.

  • @doomcannon445 Hey, there's just too much info about guns, it's impossible for my little pea sized brain to keep up with! Thank God for computers! I used to save magazines, untill my wife threw them all out. That was a sad day! Take care!!

  • i like the 57 no dash model that you got there! and the mountain gun...hell i like them all

  • @23mrcowboys Haha Yeah there nothing like a nice revolver, except maybe a nice semi auto!! LOL Thanks

  • Great video brother! thanks for the education.

  • @passionforguns Thanks for watching!!

  • Nice revolvers, the .41 is badass!

  • @MyHollowpoint Thanks Chuck! I fell for the 41mag as a young man, and I've never turned back.

  • Beautiful Revolvers awesome video friend, Thanks

  • @GARYMANDIEVAN Thanks Gary! I love a nice revolver!!

  • I inherited my dad's .41 mag Ruger Blackhawk. It's a great shooting gun. It likes the heavier bullets better than the lighter ones. I'd love to get my hands on a matching lever gun in .41 but they are just so expensive. Great video Van.

  • @ndcouey70 Yeah, I should have bought the Marlin 41mag when it first came out. They are a lot more expensive now. Thanks

  • ive only seen one 41 mag, people avoid them like the plague here, but it seems like a good round

  • @glock10mm 41 mag is kinda like 10mm, whimpy people ruined it!!

  • @GunznGear yea,damn panzys

  • thanks for the info, nice video!

  • @13ccasto Thanks for watching!

  • Sweet revolvers Van . very nice ...

  • @hazman440 Thanks bro!

  • beautiful smiths man. never shot a 41 mag. I would suspect it not as popular b/c the ammo is harder to get and perhaps alittle more expensive than 44 mag. I know if I can't easily access a particular at walmart or whatever then I don't bother. thanks for the info though learned alot

  • @MrCleanerNash It's definetly not as popular as 357mag and 44mag. The ammo is around the same as 44mag around here, but there is not as many offerings. Thanks
