  • is he wearing a raider sweater? aahahahahah

  • Pat McCormick was very good at puppeteering!

  • out of all the charley and humphrey clips, this one is my fave. I love how he falls asleep at the end, lol

  • This use to get me thru the "no reason" ass beatings after school in the 80's in San Jose. I got thru the hard times and overcame the abuse. I'm glad I found this post. Charley and humphrey always held a special place in my heart. Thank you pat!

  • Thank you SF Chronicle and an even BIGGER THANK YOU to Mr. Pat McCormick! This will forever be special to me (and my children!). Can you share the one about Bee's?

  • I remember watching this show every morning on Ch 2 before I headed out to school...them were The Good Ol Days of Television.

Screw this, Im a go look for Capt Kangaroo, another childhood favorite of mine back in the day.

  • Wow I forgot all about these guys. Far out Man! Ya Channel 2 was great in the 1970's Pat McCormick and his puppets and Bob Wilkens (Creature Features) and his horror movies were favorites of mine.

  • @slamer123

Remember Dialing for Dollars with Pat McCormick?

  • @EvilFingers Oh sure that was a classic call in game show. If I remember correctly there was also a early video game that you could play on TV by calling the station as well it was sorta like PONG. i'm not sure if Pat McCormick did that one too. Man that was a long time ago..

  • I remember seeing these guys on KTVU 2 in

    1971-72.

KTVU 2 was a great channel back then.

  • I used to love watching them in between Tom & Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, and Spider-Man.

I forgot the name of the KAT with the glasses?

We need to bring these things back today for these Children, Kids, and Teenagers.

  • The name of the cat was "PUSSYFOOT".

  • I remember those days. Right after the afternoon cartoons, then "Captain Cosmic", then the "Bionic Hour" or Channel 2. This was of course, before the talk shows took over the cartoon time slots. Miss those times.

  • Priceless! Pat knew his craft! Thanks for the good times Pat!

  • lol I miss charley & humphrey -_-

  • @mfuji0001 I miss them too. They were on KGO channel 7 in 1966, my parents were getting a divorce, so watching them made me smile. Humphrey wore a different had then. I was in the hospital alot as a kid. When I was too sick to get out of bed, I would watch Charlie and Humphrey. Pat McCormick said that he missed them very much...I miss them too.
