Jonathan Dunn is without a doubt a fantastic composer. The best part of the games he's credited on is the OST. Though I've heard he had nothing to do with the NES version of Platoon, for the music was done by a band called New. I've heard this from someone named "Doommaster1994" not sure if it's completely legit.
@supahdupahguy81 There's a site called Youtube Doubler or something where you can upload two Youtube videos at once and play them. Or just open two browsers with each song in one and see what it sounds like!
He may have been the original composer, but this version was developed by a Japanese company, so the developer must have learned the song by ear or something. I could ask Jon though to make sure.
I don't know the underground tunnel network was pretty cool. Also I remember thinking how awesome it was that you had to shoot off flares to see the enemy. The first level was pretty bad though.
This was sampled by Diplo, wasn't this?

Someone needs to take the bass from this then add the synth's from the c64 version, that would = WIN..

The ending credits say the composer's name is NEW. Whoever that is...

@Doommaster1994 Jonhatan Dunn from Ocean Software. The NES version by Sunsoft is actually a port of the Commodore 64 version by Ocean Software.

Anyone else load this game up just to hear this song? The game itself is awful.
slimshady0297 1 year ago
@slimshady0297 I did at times. But I actually liked it. The first level is a bit frustrating, but once past it, It picked up. I even beat it once.

I think they spent more time on the title screen of the game than the actual game.
