Very difficult decision. However, I saw a stat recently about how many championships the top 10 centers / dominant big men had when compared to all other positions and it wasnt even close. And, when you consider Jordan was 6 of the rings for the non-dominant big man championships, you begin to see a large statistical gap.
You take Oden, by a slim margin, and that is actually a HUGE compliment and testament to how good Durant is. Really.
Oden is under rated offensively. If he can shoot free throws at 66% lefty, then im sure he can hit jumpers consistently from that range and closer with both his hands in working order. It wont happen right away but his offense will get there and be almost as good as those two eventually.

Everyone that says Durant is better has no idea about basketball. Basketball isn't about having versatile players. You can get versatile veterans a dime a dozen, what really makes teams win is having a dominant player. Oden has the potential to become this, Durant only has the potential to be a solid consistent NBA player. Durant could be a part of a championship team one day. Oden could be the cornerstone of a dynasty.

Your an idiot. Durant dominated in college in a tough conference. He averaged more rebounds and is hitting a good % of his threes. He has the potential to take the league by storm and dominate.

A dominant big man beats a dominant forward in every level of basketball. As well as Kobe and Carmello are playing any competant GM would still take Shaq or Duncan.

but i think the most potential player for the draft is chinese yi jianlian. There's a big risk that he becomes a fake like Milicic, but he can also become a big star. But he's too young and play in a weak league. Has a ton to develop. But it's also a name to consider.

Just look at my Cleveland Cavaliers. Zydrunas Ilgauskas is probably one of the top 3 or 4 centers in the NBA right now, but the difference between him and Shaq is completely off the charts. Give me that beast in the paint that requires a triple team on offense and swats anything and everything that comes his way on D.

Oden is so overrated its not even funny. Yeah,he has size AGAINST COLLEGE KIDS but there are 7 foot small forwards in the NBA. Nobody is going to be intimidated by him. Besides,he is too soft and too passive. Durant will put on size..Kobe,KG,and TMac were all skinny toothpicks at 18. Durant is the no brainer....

Oden isnt needed as much for his scoring...Durant needs to put on size, both will be number one picks assuming they come out different years...I would choose Oden over him though, just b/c of his sheer dominance and presence inside

There will be a Kevin Durant in every draft. It's rare to find a big man with the potential of Greg Oden especially one that is as polished as he is defensively.
You can't underestimate the value of a true interior defender.
Oden has Russell potential on defense.

durant is 10x better then oden right now. but oden is playing with a broken hand. there are no true centers in the NBA anymore besides shaq. oden will probably go first if he leaves, but durant is the far better player

Its true Durant is a better player. However, dominant centers don't come around too often. Oden will be #1 in the draft, no team will pass up a center of his calibur.

i would pick oden. durant is more versatile on offense, but oden is a well rounded center who is good on defense. he played the entire season with a bad wrist.

If i was an NBA team i'd trade away ANYONE (except a select 10 or so) in an attempt to get BOTH the #1 and #2 pick... I'd even trade an older All-Star player for one of the top picks.... (Iverson, Pierce, Kidd, Carter)

Durant is the next T-mac, maybe the next Lebron. But i would still take Oden ahead of him. Oden practiced with Team USA this summer, and he still didnt play up to his potential.
