This is the car i ended up getting. i wanted the 08 or newer but when i test drove this one i realized that i liked it MUCH better. i do wish it had the more powerful 4 cylinder like the newer ones though.
@mike2moto No worries, it's not a huge speed advantage. I just got an 06 Accord Coupe EX 4 Cyl this week. I havent alerted my youtube subscribers yet, everyone still thinks I have a 2004 Mazda6 V6 lol
Hey , your channel is real good . Is this accord better than the altima and Camry of that generation and do you think this is better than the newer accords .. i am thinking of buying one
This generation Accord is better than the Altima & Camry even of the current years. This generation is very much liked as it still possesses the qualities of a midsize car that is reduced in size, youthful styling, & fun to drive. The current generation Accord 2008+ is still a better car than the Altima & Camry tho it is a bigger car than the 2. Its also larger, bulkier, & somewhat more bland looking than the previous generation Accord tho its still the better car.
I actually love driving my dad's 06 accord. It is only an LX with side impact airbags. No traction control, nothin. I gotta give it to Honda, that 2.4 pull really well for a 4 banger. It pulls that 4,000 lb car smartly. Not to mention it handles fairly well too. (get this, its even got strut braces). haha. Nice cars, too bad the New ones arent as good. The seat are uncomfortable, and the interior looks and feels cheap in the 088-current ones.
I'm thinking on purchasing a 2004 honda accord 2.4 cylinder, my question is have you had any issues with the transmission and if so what did you do to solve the problem and what was causing the problem with the transmission.
The reason I ask this question is cause I did my research on the Honda accord recalls on the transmission, but it's only on the v6 models and I can't find anything pertaining to the 4 cylinder models.
I can tell you that as long as it has a 5 Speed auto which 2004's do, then you should be good. The V6 version tho, while its not bad, they are more prone to Torque Converter issues, delayed reverse, Usually when not properly maintained, Abusively driven as the V6 is much more powerful. I Keep in mind this wasnt my car, but we've dealt with many 03-07 Accords of both versions.
The most Problematic Trannys we in the 98-02 Accords with a 4 Spd auto.
Doesn't really Matter, they should last 100k but they can fail way before. Heck, My 14 y/o V8 Explorer uses 4 and it had 184k when 1 started acting up, I changed them all cause they were so cheap. Made a huge difference even comparing before it failed.
The Accords in great shape, unless the previous owner frequently used $**t gas that didn't burn properly, yeah u can kill them off quicker.
Getting the most out of a 4 cylinder is what Honda's is famous for ;) You should drive a first Gen TSX with the 205hp K24, it will definitely rank as one of the best 4 bangers you have ever driven :)
The 4 Cyl I enjoyed the Most was when I drove the 2003 Volvo V40 1.9T paired with an Aisin 5sp Auto. That Wagon pulled like a V6 and could leave some V8's in the dust. I loved it. I put a vid on it but didn't properly show what it could do. The sound of the Turbo churning up was just music to the ears too LOL...
Never driven a Volvo, idk I just don't really like the styling and I am concerned with the spotty reliability of most models. I do love the Turbo 2.0L 4 cylinder in the 2010 Audi A4 but i think I prefer the pull of a high revving, sweet sounding 4 over a torquey, low revving (with power tapering off at high revs) turbo 4 cylinder, but thats just me lol
Those Accords are tuned to feel quite a bit more powerful then there 160 HP would lead to believe. and such a smooth effortless engine too. I LOVE the typical shifting of a Honda 5spd.
It's really the only 4cyl Honda I've driven that really felt peppy. Well, driven the older 95-97 4cyl Accords too and thy felt good too. Civic feels OK but really needs be revved hard, I'm sure the Top Line Civic SI with the 2.0 feels good but might as well go for an Accord which is more Car.

@xoquixxoqafxo
Just plugged in my Actron , P0141 - Oxygen O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank1, Sensor2).
Also it was low a qt of oil which I did complete before driving it but that should'nt of triggered it.

@Intechdude300
Rly? A bad 02 Sensor already? This poor thing must have been abused cause mine is at 116k and all the sensors are original and mines a V6 lol

I also kinda liked the 05 Mini and had fun with an 01 Passat 1.8L Turbo but that was years ago ( before I started recording )

I love the engines in these cars...very smooth, quiet, powerful (for a 2.4), and economical (mid-30s highway mpg)
