  • We love mister Master

  • What the hell happened to the second master?

  • @thatrealycoolguy Delgado died in car crash and so they shelved the character than they brought the character and he's close the end of his regenerations. He gets a new body in Keeper of Traken.

  • To all those confused how the master can regenerat again mainly to sallyjoisie the master was recreated by the time lords for war so he's like got all his regenerations back

  • dundun dundun!

  • VOTE SAXON!

  • @RollandDynasty I voted Saxon - he promised all this change, he prmised to heal the nation's hurts.. and then he just buggered off....

    Ruddy politician....

  • My favorite was Anthony Ainley

  • mine too

  • Heh, 2007 had three Masters :P

    Never crossed my mind.

  • How Come No-one Likes Eric Roberts or John Simm? Everyones Like

''Derek Jacobi is the best!'' ''Wish He Stayed Longer!'', Hes not the Only Master you Know!

  • @URTehSuxor I think it is because that Robert's Master was a total Drama Queen. As for Simm, I liked him as well, and he definitely showed the insane and not so subtle part of the Master that everyone always associates with the character.

  • @URTehSuxor Thats right., Delgado and Ainley were MUCH better.

  • @URTehSuxor People unfailingly believe that old > new. It's annoying that human beings have yet to grow out of that mentality, but there it is.

  • Alas, Spock created the Beard of Evil, but the Master OWNS the Beard of Evil.

  • They should make a Time War special with Paul McGann and Derek Jacobi. They were both One Shot Time Lords.

  • Uh, no. Sorry to disagree but the FN Master wasn't "redeemed" he was simply getting a little revenge.

If Moffat goes that route then he a FN idiot. But what else would be new? a good Master? What a joke! Moffat has no real understanding of people. NONE! No wonder his characters are so shallow and laughable. Those that even remotely approach 2-dimensional are all due to the actors attempting to rise above those meager scripts. SAD! that nowadays some fans chose style over substance. :-(

  • I have no doubt THe Master will return at some point. Unfortunately it will mean that his redemptioin in "The End of Time" will be meaningless.

  • he'll be back im sure of it

  • It's a shame about John Simm...totally shit

  • lets see Moffat style Master would be evil, taunting the Doctor and a total sick sex pervert.

yeah, not looking forward to it, so I won't be wasting time watching a bunch of out-dated rubbish.

badly copied stories, The Doctor character badly comprimised beyond belief. Forced to marry the most repulsive character ever to darken Dr Who and a sociopath to boot. so not the Doctor we all knew, loved and respected. Now he is turning into this self-rightous swaggering jack-ass who thinks killings ok?

  • @2012smartypants Sex pervert? WTF. How has the doctors character been compromised any more than the many other times he decided to commit genocide? Or any more selft righterous than the 3rd, 6th or 7th doctor?

  • @eateroftheflame *rightous

  • y does this video take so long to load

  • Guys, The Master Is Returning!

    Step 1. Go To Google

Step 2. Type in : master returns doctor who 2012

Step 3. Click On ''Simms Master Could Return | Doctor Who TV''

Step 4. Thumbs up On this Comment so Everyone Could See!

  • John Simm really delivered a brilliant Master. He seems completely insane. I like that. Well, good thing is, he'll probably return, as Doctor Who villains always do.

  • I wonder if the Master will return....what would 11's reaction be? :)

  • @princessthyemis Well, probably not this "What? What? What?!"

  • roger delgado was my fave

  • (Every Incarnation Of The Master) we know of, I swear he used up all his regeneration, but somehow gains some hence 'the master' of death?

  • Roger Delgado - THE Master. The original and best.

  • When Martha talked of a fogwatch I'm like, "Oh cool another Time Lord!" And then I realized, "Wait a minute...this ain't gonna be good...." Sure enough..."OH SHHHHHOOOT HE TOOK THE TARDIS!" "OH MY GOD HE'S THE PRIME MINISTER!" "WHAT THE CRAP HE KILLED HOW MANY PEOPLE?" "HE'S COME BACK? OH COME ON!" and on, and on....

  • 2:37 Screams like a little girl.

  • John Simm scared the crap out of me with the whole seeing through his skin to his skull thing...

  • @kidman3343 It would have been cool if he wasn't the master but giving him powers was even more stupid. Also... how did the master become a timelord again? Last we saw of him before he returned in the modern tv program he was possessing a human host body.

  • The Master- It's all about Delgado!

  • you forgot Scream of Shalka!

  • which was the future projection of the 5th Doctor, regenerated.

And this Master was so deliciously evil. Using Adrics advanced mathematics to create an entire city made out of block-computations. (you'll have to watch Logopolis to fully understand) the city of Castrovalva. It wasn't a real city. nor were the people. great story. and from there on we see The Master in 'Time Flight' and then 'The Kings Demons' The Five Doctors and then Planet of Fire and then Mark of the Rani, etc. Great stories.

  • @sallyjosie I know. Anthony Ainely Rocked it to the ballpark!

What a man. quiet in real life and great evil for the screen. lol

before he was a megalomaniac which was perfect. like you said, a Moriarty to the dr's sherlock.

now? He's just "misunderstood". That crap went out in the 90's. where these writer been. these writers for Doctor Who are so far behind the times. a lot of the style stories they are doing are like 15 yrs out of date. time to get fresh writers man.

  • father. Both Tremas (an anagram for Master btw lol) and The Master were both played beautifully by Anthony Ainley. This Master went on to hijack Logopolis in 'Logopolis' and wound up causing the entire Universe to collapse. funny, I don't recall The Master saying the Doctor's real name. :P

And the Doctor and The Master had to team up to stop it. And then he wanted to blackmail the whole universe into making him supreme ruler. The 4th Dr stopped him and then with the help of the Watcher....

  • The Master cannot Regenerate!! He used up his last one by the time 'The Deadly Assassin' rolled around. So that swaza13 is not a good explanation.

The Master tried to regenerate after number 12 and what he became was a hideous skeleton like creature. Then he went Trakken to steal the power used by the Keeper. He did become the Keeper via Kassia, Nyssa's step-mother. THEN after the Doctor and Adric thwarted this scheme he used his remaining keeper power to hijack Tremas' body. This is was Nyssas

  • The Master always dresses in style.

  • John Simm. How come John's hair turns blond in the End of Time?

  • 8.john simm 2007-2010

  • voted for saxon

  • ....That was awesome. Props to you sir.

  • Patrick Stewart should be The Master, it would be epic.

  • @Borgcommander Patric Stewart? Isn't he a bit old to be the master. He was older than any of the DW main cast already when he played ST: TNG.

  • @theemrpoint123 True, but it seems to me that The Master is meant to be older. I mean John Simm is great as The Master, but I think Delgado and Jacobi did better because they looked the part and were incredible actors, along with Anthony Ainley.

  • @Borgcommander I like John Simm and I like the Character he played but that character was NOT the master. THe Master is ALWAYS subtle, sinister, and underhanded. John Simms character was more like a comic book super villain. Which is great and all but it wasn't the master.

  • @CEnforce Time Lords' personalities change with regeneration though, just look at the Doctor

  • @Swaza13 surface aspects change but the core person is still the same. Except for the god awful 10th doctor who acted way out of character due to terrible writing.

  • @CEnforce I recognize your statement as factual, and while Simm was not the best, I do believe that Simm's Master fit well with David Tennant's Doctor.

  • @Borgcommander I agree with that. however I also feel that Tennants doctor was written poorly as well.

  • @Borgcommander STill, if he wasn't called the Master I would have probably really enjoyed Simms character.

  • @CEnforce Hence the reason I think Patrick Stewart or possibly Christopher Lee should play the role. Maybe Jason Issacs

  • @Borgcommander all could be interesting. They could pull of the subtle sinister menace the master really needs.

  • @CEnforce My thoughts exactly, especially with Patrick Stewart, who has said he wants to be on Doctor Who

  • I like the ones with the beards!

  • Thanks so much for gathering them all together.

I was not remembering them all.

Delgado & Ainley would kind of mesh in my mind. Kind of the same.

Now I see the difference with them side by side.

  • No reason Jonathan Pryce shouldn't count - the Eighth Doctor novels made "Curse Of Fatal Death" canon!

  • Eric Roberts = Doctor Who Version of the Terminator?

  • Well I Guess Some TimeLords Just DO NOT Live For 13 Forms...

  • Put Delgado in the outfit Roberts is wearing and you've got Doctor Strange.

  • I think The Master was meant to be an older character, Jon Simm is good, but notice Jocobi and Delgado did better.

  • Derek Jacobi was great as The Master. I wish he had stayed longer.

  • @Borgcommander Me too. I was actually a little disappointed when he regenerated

  • EVERY... there have only been 6.

  • Oh and I know how some fans hate to use the books and to a certain extent I agree. While some were probably excellent some have been downright stupid. But the books based on the televised show should be mostly cannon. some say there are contradictions but they are so few that its silly to dismiss the entire book because of one or two differences. And so I will use the books in my story. not the first one of course. not even close. I'm just following in the footsteps of those who came before me.

  • that the doctor doesn't always thinks before he acts, in that case (spiders story) he had taken a blue crystal at an earlier time of that planet (Metabelios 3) that caused all the problems on that planet in the future.

The Master wanted power. And because the Dr stopped him he then wanted revenge. But not just kill the dr but to humiliate him and prove to the dr that he was smarter and more clever then the dr was. Simms was too much of a whiner. Anthony Ainley was superb. hammy yes, but good.

  • be more like the old wonderful Master. Who was SUPPOSE TO BE the "Professor Moriarty" to the Doctor's "Sherlock" type character. And nothing more and nothing less. and they were never anything more then Time Lords who were fed up with the restrictions of Time Lord society and wanted more, albeit different things. The Doctor wanted to get involved and to learn things in a fun exciting way. as acknowledged in 'Planet of Spiders' where Kanpo gently rebukes the Dr greed for knowledge to the point

  • Saying she is half-time lord is like saying the child of someone who has a Ph.D is half-doctor. lol

She was just a stupid sociopathic stalking Human who was imbued with time lord LIKE capabilities.

Oh and I create my own little Master who isn't like that pathetic whining wanna-be Master who is so embarrassingly stupid. The Master of old was wonderfully evil, and hammy but also brilliant. Not this stupid childish, "I looked into (whatever) and that drove me mad" crap. How stupid! My Master will

  • group you do not refer to them in that manner. PERIOD/FULL-STOP!

In Rodan goes on to say that due to her ONLY graduating from the Seventh Grade she could only be a glorified Traffic Cop. hardly the job for a Time Lord. Same with the guards. Also there was never any mention of any of the guards (who are shot by whomever) of regenerating. EVER. Whereas those who WERE Time Lords were often heard during down time about their new regeneration.

So River is not a Time Lady or anything close.

  • be". Now I don't care how some idiots will try and argue this, duuuuh, maybe he meant master renounced time lord society duuuuuh. Yeah! That makes a lot of sense. NOT! Even if you renounce your people, you do not cease to be a member of a RACE. Only a society or a group. Also in Invasion of Time when Leela asks Rodan : Why don't you turn me into the guards.

Rodan: I am not one of them

    Leela: Them?

Rodan: The guards, the Time Lords, the boring people.

This was on tv. and if your a member of a

  • that uses old stories as a sort of spring board to dive off of into a brand new story.

And the time meddler was not the Master. In fact in my own little stories I (in my stories) put to rest a lot of WRONG INFORMATION that is currently in the new series.

    1. NOT ALL Gallifreyans are Time Lords. Proof? Watch 'The Deadly Assassin' and 'Invasion of Time'. There are several key dialogue that backs this up. Like when Spandell asks the dr if the master was a time lord, and the dr says "yes, he use to

  • characters I use are true to their character. they are just a PG-13 version of themselves and they are involved in a slightly more Doctor Who style story then Torchwood.

I guess the 2 or 3 people reading my story (lol) might complain that only die-hard Doctor Who fans will get certain aspects of the stories and to a certain extent it's true. I use old Doctor Who companions and they occasionally , mention their old (televised lol) adventure with the dr. But for the most part it is a new story,

  • get what I mean, but they play key roles along the way. well, it's complicated. But not hard to follow. There's a difference between complicated, and convoluted. least I think so.

In fact I am so "radical" that the Doctor isn't even in the first 2 stories but he is mentioned numerous times and it is, hmmm, not all about him but it involves him. something very personal to him. But the first two stories are the spin-offs. Torchwood won't be a traditional story but more dr whovish. lol but the...

  • Moffat's will razzle dazzle some but it will lack substance and it won't really properly acknowledge the classic series. A word here, a flashback here. BORING! While, focusing at least 90% of the show to the series since he started working for the show. So in reality it will just turn out to be a tribute to his own ego. course his fans will deny that and ignore reality as many of them are prone to do. rme

But I use Drax, Susan, Kanpo, The Rani and Romana in my story. They don't "star" if you

  • Richard Hurdnell to play the role of the First Doctor and many people didn't know that he wasn't William Hartnell. That's how good of a job Richard did. So I ignore stupid rubbish comments like that. Now, the rest could be done but it would be beyond the BBC budget. I get that. But some say it can't be done. What? drawing over (CGI) Tom, Peter (for awhile lol), Colin, and Sylvester and I take their age into account. but since I am just posting it for fanfic, I don't have to. lol

    shame too....

  • it could be done on tv. It would take 3 or 4 months to do and it would be expensive, BUT it could (theoretically) be done.

I have encountered a few naysayers but I say hush. lol My ideas would work. Not saying that would be great but they would work. And I personally think others would enjoy them as well.

What some of the pessimists say "wouldn't work" is hiring new actors to play the first three. WHY NOT?! In The Five Doctors William Hartnell was already dead for ten years so they hired

  • the Doctor. So I'm not one of "those" who hate everything about the new who. That's been the lazy easy go to argument of idiots who don't want to acknowledge that SOME of the new stuff blatantly contradicts things that cannot logically be changed, unlike say an event that happens on some alien world.

Anyway, in addition to my (maybe stupid and boring, hope not lol) little alternative stories I also have my own 50th Anniversary that includes ALL 11 Doctors and ALL of the companions. And yes,

  • The second doctor battled the master and sent him into a black hole, which cost him 3 regenerations to escape. Favorite master is Ainley, with Delgado inching closer with each serial I see with him.

  • Imagine how good of a Master Derek Jacobi would have become! Wish we would have had him a little longer.

  • John Simm was a freaking incredible Master. Haven't gotten aquainted with any of the others except for Eric Roberts, but John Simm was hilarious, eccentric, weirdly attractive and bone-chillingly terrifying all at once. His Master is in my top 5 best villains of all time (along with the Cybermen, Lord Sauron, Professor Moriarty, and Bellatrix Lestrange).

  • Well Eric Roberts or The Guy Who Played A Jedi Like Rat?

  • I like John Simm as the Master. No one could play him better...well there was Roger Delgado and Anthony Ainley, but still...

  • Comment removed

  • Steven Moffat, here you have a great villian, use him in Series 7 instead of those crappy Silence who dosen't make ANY sense. You used the Daleks ever since 2005,but only used the Cybermen about four times, use them a bit aswell, but mostly.BRING THE MASTER BACK!!!!

Either as Anthony Ainley or as Patrick Stewart, those two would be perfect as Masters. One was and one was it temporarely, but both were great!!!

  • @TheMrOkamiden Patrick stewart yea would be awesome!!!!!!!!!

  • Anthony Ainley is no longer with us either..... (I wish Derek Jacobi had lasted longer..) but love them all I do just like my Doctors... Long live the show...

  • @fenric71 Whenever I see Tommorow Never dies and sees Patrick I can no longer see him without the master beard and that shirt and those bumps. Thanks alot Curse of the fatal death, now I can't take an already easy to not take seriously villian completly unable to take him seriously now,but whenever I see Curse of the fatal death I always think"Why hasn't he returned during the Moffat era?He is great, and would fit perfect as the new Ainley Master if he comes back, plus he knows Moffat"

  • @TheMrOkamiden sorry dude! It is funny as hell though... all them Doctors...

  • @fenric71 Why are you apologising?

  • @TheMrOkamiden sorry for giving you that mental picture LOL still it is funny....

  • @fenric71 Not catching your train here.

  • @TheMrOkamiden never mind not important!

  • they should have stuck JonnathenBryce in for the comic relief master and his Dalek bumps that was sooooo funny....

  • 1963 - 2010?

Sorry but a small bit of DW Trivia

The Master first pop up in 1971

    The late great Roger Delgado

  • @Nige031077 There is rumuor though inthe DW world, and I am not saying it is true but the monk in The time Meddler was The master... its only a rumour as I say but is intruiging i think....

  • Roger Delgado forver! Although, I did love John Simm doing it. But then, I love him anyway.

I didn't like the ones that weren't human in form. They were a bit.... weird

  • @Coseepo poor Roger what a way to die, it was awful....he is missed so much and I think after he died that was when Jon Pertwee decided enough was enough... sad

  • so the master and the evil timelord monk from the first 2 seasons were different people? they did say his MASTER plan quite a bit

  • RIP Roger Delgado, the best Master - although I must say Derek Jacobi and John Simm did a fair job of filling your shoes; well, they were pretty bog shoes to try and fill - they brought your version of the Master into the 21st Century!

  • Gotta say Roger Delgado's master was the best not just because he was the original but because he was mostly calm and sinisterly subtle, Athony Ainley did a good job at that but there was still not that presence that Delgado had. I wish Jacobi had longer in the role because he would have been very good and scary

  • 1. Evil rich uncle,

    2. corpse,

    3. ZOMBIE,

    4. Evil rich uncle#2,

    5. Comotose... sort of...

    6. Terminator and VAMPIRE,

    7. Newt Gingrich,

    8. over-enthusiastic kid

    9. just a kid.

  • @Rangernewb5550 LOL @ Gingrich description and Rich Uncle Descriptions especially.

  • You know what would be awesome? Someone should make a video dedicated to the master to Drumming Song by Florence and the Machine. That would be the best thing ever. It's such a perfect song for him and his f-ed up head.

  • Roger Delgado looks best for it, in my opinion. Followed by Anthony Ainley.

  • I don't think John Simm should have been the Master. All the other incarnation of him are the picture of evil but John Simm doesn't look evil to me

  • @swordseye2 yeah but if you watch the clip of when the doctor regenerates into 4 some timelord says it rewrites everything except his thoughts and same goes for the master

  • @Korestaion Wouldn't the Master have evil thoughts so he would still regenerate into someone who looks evil?

  • @swordseye2 the master is still the master just he got more evil

i mean if you are going to take over the world a) become a leader of a country and release an army of spheres and let them do the work while you plan to take over the universe or b) turn everyone into you

you get a perfect result each time but they were each to bring back gallifrey (first one was to make a new one)

and look at the doctor 9 was calm but hard to mess with and ten was emotional

sorry for shuffing this down you

  • That theme tune at the start. Where did you get it from [Not the last of the timelords version]. The very first one used after the little clip of Eric Roberts Master Incarnation

  • was he holding an ood ball

  • @diehippie9000 he didnt insanity like Simm did.

  • You're missing, "Bitey the Snake." Bitey was always my favourite Master. No one could play 5 seconds of scampering away like good ol' Bitey the Snake.

  • BRING THE MARSTER BACK

  • The Geoffrey Beevers version of the Master isn't a seperate incarnation of the Master, he is ment to be playing the same version as Peter Pratt.

  • Peter Pratt and Geoffrey Beevers should be credited as playing the same incarnation, not separate ones.

  • Y.A.N.A

    (You Are Not Alone)

  • Those who disliked this video.........Here come the drums........

  • i think that one reminds me of Albert Weskar or maybe duke nukem lol either way that was one of the better looking masters i think

  • I love this. Just a giant video of crazy ass evilness. Makes me want to be evil and crazy.

  • I would love to see the Master come back in the 50th anniversary. I can't wait to see him face River Song (she made a Dalek cry for mercy, after all).

  • what this country needs right now,,,,,,,,,,is a doctor *trollface*

  • I love that you included Minie Master! XD!

  • John Simm was best Master.

  • @nigahiga68 Yeah, mad as a hatter.

  • @nigahiga68 Roger Delgado was the best master, by far.

  • @nigahiga68 I'm sorry but I my respectfully disagree. The best was the original Roger Delgado. Simms was WAY to hammy and over the top.

  • @johnhamilton08 Totally agree. The Master was intended to be sinister, and Delgado was the definition of the word.

  • @sixstanger00 I mean, just look at that guys stare!

  • @johnhamilton08 I'm afraid I'll get hypnotized....

  • @sixstanger00 me too.

  • Meant to mention that when Delgado was in the series, he was in practically every single episode and I remember as a kid, wanting a different villain. Then came the tragic news that he had been killed in a car crash in Turkey. I think he would have gone on and done many more episodes. His performance was amazing. Far less 'camp' than anything that has come since.

  • Well done for putting this together. Really thorough.

  • My favorite = Anthony Ainley I think he had the best laugh too. :)

  • The Master, like Rainbow Dash, Always dresses in style.

  • John Simm is a sexy bastard.

  • The Master will be back, idc what they say just everyone watch and wait. Sn: Rory said he had a banging noise in his head in the episode "Let's Kill Hitler". Is it possible that he is the Master's son? I'd hate to think that considering he's one of my favorite characters but you got to take into consideration that the Master had a wife.

  • i used to only watch the new who but then i went back and saw some of old who with the master and i think Rodger Delgado is really creepy. I think the master should be like that. John simmm i did not find creepy just controling

  • My Bro has a Habit of calling the Anthony Ainley and the Eric Roberts Master's Dracula and the 5th and 8th Doctors priests it's really funny.

  • I love Eric Roberts, but he was no Master. The best I can describe it is that he took a classic British villain and turned him into an American 90's villain; he just seemed too much like the Terminator.

  • Might i say, i am in love with John Simm and the Master character.

I literally cried when the writers said that the master died.

    Even if he was evil..

  • On John Simm you might want to put the ending date as 2010 because all the writers and such said that the master is never coming back. When he gave himself for the Doctor, he completely killed himself.

  • @VincentsGirl5 Na I disagree, he has been brought back from o many things before (burning to death in Planet of fire etc etc etc....) besides 50 years is not far away, he may get another go for that.. perhaps not John though.. we will see.....

  • they should have the masters soul go into Rory so that he can be the next master

  • at 1:41 it looks like hes saying shit

  • Comment removed

  • the second master scares the crap out me

  • The 9th it's not the "9nth" :S It's the 1st -.-... There's just 8 doctor, and the 8th looks better in blonde

  • 1:58 INFAMOUS

  • Oh goodness, the movie was terrible. My friend and I couldn't stop laughing when the Master said, "I want the Doctor's body." because of course we just had to make it into fanservice... Anyway, fantastic video!

  • Geffrey Beevers and Anthony Ainley do it for me.

But I gotta admit, I love John Simm's version, just because it's sadistically crazy.

  • John Simm was a fit master - i envied his wife!!

  • 1st doctor reminds me of Sinestro from green lantern lol.

  • The first one.

  • shouldn't it be 1971 - 2010?

  • 0:46 WHOA!!!!!!!!!

  • Regeneration 2 and 3 look like burned corpses

Regeneration 6 looks pretty damn cool until he turns into Count Dracula

    Regeneration 8 is hot

The child shouldn't count as a regeneration because he's the master as a child.

  • First was the best by far

  • haha love the fake costumes of the 70's XD

  • @thegamerkid77

    OH YES! :D

  • Its Derek Jacobi that does it for me, he is the niceprofessor until, he opens the watch, then his face jsut changes. major league class acting....
