  • Thumbs, When I pinch, I feel like I don't have enough control over the throttle hold and idle up switches on my Futaba 10c.

  • @zforce69 Im the same lol.

  • I started flying helis 8 years ago and used my thumbs after getting used to the old stick controllers driving a R/C trucks-in those days there was no such item as a pistol grip controller. My friend who owned a R/C shop told me to try to switch from thumbs to the pinch method with a neck strap. Well I did and found my flying became MUCH more accurate. To this day while flying planes and helis I still use the pinch and teach others who start out in this hobby to do the same. Pinch all the way!!!!

  • i thumb. always have, always will. I feel like you get more accurate inputs on the outer parts of the controls. but really nothing that a little expo cant help with. i've never had my thumbs slip off which seems to be a problem for some people. but it only takes one slip to crash. just preferance....

  • I use thumb and finger on the throttle and just a thumb on the right stick. Look forward to experimenting though!!!

So does the wife, HAHAHaHaHa!!!!!!!!! =)

  • for a year i was all thumbs and thought it was the best for me then i got a cheap neck strap (well bodged one from a laptop case actually) and tried thumb n finger one day and was frigging amazed at how much more precise the controls were :O you may never notice it but you try keeping a camera steady on a heli with just ya thumbs? not gonna happen :( so thumb n finger or pinching from how on everyone :D

  • they say pinch is better but you need a tray to hold the tx or a seat so you can put the tx on your knee any guesses to what i use lol

  • thumbie im guessing. i was wondering why they used those tray thingies but after trying some Pinchy Flying i see why now. with just the strap the controller kept tipping so id hav to keep adjusting it. im going to hav to build a tray.

  • I use "thumbs" but will try the "fingers" down the road. I have just started using a neck strap though. Without it I find myself diverting though to holding the TX without the strap(don't want to drop it, it's not cheap to fix) though using the neck strap is an thing to get used to all in itself.

  • my flying improved so much once i started using neck strap .u can be so much lighter on the sticks. i found the higher i had it the better(just under sternum).

  • thumbies are winning LOL

  • i use thumbs only, ive tryed to use thumbs and fingers which i did feel i had more control on the left stick but was overall harder.

  • I use Thumbs............they say thumb and finger is better!

    Mike

  • i use thumbs . the best pilots use thumbs and fingers more control over the heli

  • i clicked your ads.

  • Two thumbs!

  • Thumbs have been proven to be more effective.

For example, if your flying a heli, your brain must train 4 fingers to do 8 functions. Another 8 different functions when the heli comes back toward you. Another 8 functions when your inverted. Now what do you think the brain can easily train faster and better, 2 thumbs or 4 fingers.

  • erm actually from flying the heli i found if you use just your thumb you have to teach your brain to balance thumb on TX stick 1 point of contact then learn to roll thumb to difrent sides of the stick for each move but if you use 2 points of contact on TX you are already holding the stick steady instead of trying to balance it

  • i might give it a go.
