  • Whats the deal with people agruing about GTPs being faster then SHOs? Stock for Stock the Sho beats the GTP. The V8 Shos are a piece of crap, the V6 version is better.

  • gtp dont have anything on shos the shos v8 is strait up power no super charger no turbo and its putting out close to 250 hp the gtps have a v6 supercharged and they have close to 250 hp as well i have beaten the shit out of many 2000-2009 gtps in my 96 sho so shut up about all your slo comments and gtp comments

  • It's a little light that comes on when your alternator is taking a dump.  Mine worked fine, just didn't produce much power in the high end, that's why it came on after so many RPMs.

  • you could have improoved your launch by doing it in first. with the yamaha v8 1st gear will take you all the way to 65mph. but i would reccomend transfering to second gear at about 55 due to high rpm power loss. and shift time. hope that helps!!

  • @thevarekai007 Acceleration wouldn't have been any better shifting manually. Shifting an auto manually doesn't get you any quicker acceleration. I don't know why so may retards out there think that. LOL. It just makes it more fun, that's all.

  • @MrMercLover its not the quicker acceleration i was talking about, when you use the manual 1-2 your able to keep it in gear longer getting higher rpm. it made a .3 difference on my 1/4 mile time in my 98

  • @thevarekai007 It wasn't the manual shifting that got you a better time. Sorry. Reving it anything more than 200-300 RPM over the peak HP RPM is a waste and you'll actually be slowing down rather than accelerating. Amatures. LOL.

  • @MrMercLover do you drive the V8 or the V6? i have a 98 V8 so that might be the difference. with my generation my 1st gear is way to long, i hit 65 in 1st. but my auto trans shifts early out of the power band. i also have a chip to change my IMRC to switch over at 2500 instead of 4500.

  • @thevarekai007 Neither because their all too slow for me. The funny thing is the V8 is by far the slowest. You can BS all you want about gear ratios and IMRC but nothing will make that thing fast.

  • @MrMercLover its not bs, it may be the slowest but its mostly due to the lack of a manual trans option for it. and btw its not bs, its proven with the data i pulled from my modus. generally your right but ive seen the specs in freeze frame. the sho doesnt make the numbers its really capeable of but its still a nice car. and more than enough to embarass all the hondas on the road. and v6 mustangs. those are my fav lol. one exhaust pipe and they think its fast cause of a badge lol. gotta love it

V6 mustangs are an even bigger joke than your car so yeah you could beat one but so can pretty much anything else on the road too. BTW your "data" is pure BS. That is the most pathetic V8 ever built. It's not even big enough to deserve to be called a V8.

  • I wouldn't call the SHO a POS, Drove a 97 GP GTP before my gen 2 SHO and both are great cars, the SHO has the comfort and handling, but the GTP's 67 does have that power. I miss my HUD and supercharger though. Someone should swap in an L67 into a SHO :)

If you check my really old videos, my brother had a Z26 Beretta, and he ran it without oil forever, sooo... When I tried to replace the bearings I couldn't even get to the oil pan LOL!!!!

  • Hey listen here man. All I'm gonna say is that I'm a GM guy, you're a Ford guy. The 3800 is nothing like that 3100. The 3100 overheads and has massive head problems. The 3800 is direct descendent of the Great American GM smallblocks of the 60's. Literally, It just has two cylinders lopped off. Its a great motor man. Whether you want to keep you pride or admit it. It IS bulletproof. Now I will say this, you're new vids aren't half bad. I suppose when SHO's are well repaired they are ok

  • Somthing aint right, my 93' 3.2 ATX doesnt even shift out of first until about 55 or 60 and second gear tops out at about 85 and i only did a couple of light mods...

  • seems slow compared to my ultra. when you put the ultra to the floor the traction just sits there like what the hell am i supposed to do. lol!!

  • have fun when your cam sprockets slip off the end of the cams, and then say the 3.0/3.2 V6 is weak when it crests 300,000 miles on the odometer without ever being pulled apart. Thats what Ford sticking their hands in on the engine design will do for you. Then, after you spend thousands rebuilding the engine and welding the cams, prepare to still be dominated by a 1st or 2nd gen. check the stats boy. And keep it Yamaha.

  • Maybe YOU should check the stats... If you took the time to watch my other videos you would know that this SHO was welded. As for being "dominated" by a V6 SHO, my V8 would eat my V6 MTX up any day of the week. The V6 would get it off the line, but once it's down the strip, the V8 would tear it up. I will NOT deny the fact that the V8 was poorly built, however... Not gonna go into that today though lol

  • I'm sure the SHO community will welcome you with open arms at this years convention. I suggest you attend and show those guys a thing or two about how to run a SHO. Especially those pesky 3.0 / 3.2 MTX guys.

  • Better looking? I personally don't think so, but to each his own. As far as a v8 sho beating ANY mtx its the other way around, ANY mtx sho will beat the v8 sho, they were heavy and the auto really slowed them down. The 89 sho did 0-60 in 6.7 seconds there is no V8 that will even come close to touching that. I will give you this though, the v8 sho did sound a lot better :)

  • IF you look up videos of stock V8 SHOs vs stock V6 MTX SHOs on a 1/4 mile strip, you will see that the V8 wins every time. But yeah, they DO sound great... I miss it.

  • You need to look up some more info man, not tryign to be a dick but, I own 4 shos 3 v6 cars, 2 atx's and 1 mtx and a 96 v8 and the mtx smokes all of them. Head over to sho forum and ask what the fastest sho is. Also where are these videos of the v8 sho beating the v6 car's, id like to see it, because unless the v8 is supercharged or is running spray, there is just no way id will happen. Stock for stock the mtx is far superior.

Last time I opened the hood it was a V8 unless someone swapped the engine out last night for one of those weak 89 engines. I'll check and let you know if it is about a second slower than normal. The 96-99 are way better looking and have better suspension too. I am not a Ford man but I do admire this little SHO when it whoops those GT's.
