All those cars you talk about cant drive today. there are other rules today than just for 5 years ago. And the technology today, makes all those cars "totally" slow. no one of them will ever get in top 10 overall today.

@veliciu92 you can say something like that about Toyota or Nissan .... they produce good cars .... look for example Toyota land cruiser (long history in off roding) or Nissan patrol (one of the toughest off road cars) both with great diesel engines .

Other than Bob Varsha or David Hobbs, I love listening to Leigh Diffey on Speed Channel. The Australian called this one down lovingly. This was my first Le Mans that I got to see the finish still awake. I faked sleep to avoid getting caught still awake by my parents. Like them or not, Audi's basically dominated this decade of big time sportscar racing with their great prototypes. I wished Peugeot would have shown up better against the Audis in Le Mans 2008. Hope the 908 HDi FAP can win Le Mans.

Isn't it tradition to drive slowly? I remember reading a Yank in a Ford GT went into his last lap at racing speed with people coming on to the track to applaud and he got the fright of his life! No one told him!

There is a tradition is tp wave the safety flags during the final lap by track marshals, but I'm not so sure if it's an actual rule... and this year that didn't happen. I guess it basicly depends if the race is still on or not, I mean the Pug still finished on the same lap than the leading audi.

The Peugeots dominated the early laps of the race but at the final laps of the race, the Peugeots are 2:00 seconds behind the Audi. Once again, the Peugeots are unable to beat Audis.

though you have to admit this time peugeot would have won if it wasn't for a few misfortunes. but in the end that's how this legendary race goes. your car has to be 100%, your drivers have to be 100%, and your pit crew has to be 100%. im a GT1 fan and i love the corvettes, and it only took the aston martans 2-3 races to get it right. now they won 2 in a row. i give it time before peugeot beats the great audi teams.

Corvettes were pretty fasy this year and i think we scared the Austins. But like you said everything has to be 100% and the Austin was this year. I mean the 63 had ran into a LMP and had brake problems without that i think it would have been a different story. Vette will come back next year and will be wanting to take names and kick some serious ass!

By the time Peugeot get's this car right, the R-15 Audi will be on-line...if you want to reach for the stars, you'll need a German rocket scientist on your side, such as Dr. Ulrich. The best engineers in the world still reside in Germany(and why cars like the 911 are the benchmark). It's not enough to have raw speed...the machine MUST be drivable in ALL conditions 24-7...anything else is an excuse.

they dominated until the rain fell, after that, it went all downhill for Peugeot (having nearly a lap lead and falling all the to a lap down in 7 hours)

the #2 Audi drove a perfect race, had one problem from the simple spin, but that was it, no driver problems, no pit problems, no car problems, thats what it takes to win Le Mans

The most beautiful race of Le Mans since many many years... The peugeot (driven by Minassian) passed the Audi in order to be in the same lap at the final ranking.

The Audi is slower on one lap than the Peugeot but won in the end because of its good pilots, good strategy and vey good in pits!

A serious debiefing is necessary for Peugeot because you can not expect a win when you are 10 more minutes in the pits than your direct opponent.
