@skyeswe95 neverland on syfy explianed the whole thing. This is what happened hook was in love with peter's mom but hook feels like it's peters dads fault for stealing her away so hook killed peters dad for revenge and Peter found out and swore to hunt hook down. I hope this helped

@skyeswe95 As far as I know, Hook always disliked Peter for being so cocky, and after Peter caused the croc to eat Hook's hand and follow him around, the dislike fuelled Hook's want for revenge!

Pan found Wendy, and Captain Hook was still alone, so jealousy was yet another reason for Hook to dislike Pan. In this version of the story,Peter is old enough to understand his feelings for Wendy and his actions (he's usually 5) so I don't consider him as much of a child.. I agree with Hook tbh XD

hook as j.m. barrie created him stands for everything evil and cruel in the world, shown by his wish to rule neverland alone. he hates the idea of the forever young boy who stands for everything light, funny and good in the world.

Ok they orginal way they met was as somebody pointed out by chance Hook got his hand cut off by Pan la de da.

However i recently read "Hook and Jill" by andrea jones and its a complete re-telling of the story and according to andrea jones Hook is the half brother peter pan.

It still confuses me i guess i shall have to re read the book again btw its a good read if you like Hook/Wendy pairing a bit sexual but very interesting yee must read it people XD

I read some books by toisel about the adventure of Peter Pan. it is said, that Hook was the dad of Peter, and his parents (captain Hook's parents) died by a shipwreck when he was young, and after he just wants to have a ship to go to the adventure. And later he met a women who will become the mother of Peter. But Hook thought that the women lay to him when she said that she was pregnant, so he left her. And after the birth of Peter, the mother will be an evil woman without any love for her son.

Captain Hook is the worst of the worst, but he has charm, you can't deny that.

True, Peter had cut of Hook's hand, but Hook says "he wishes his children would be born with one". He just "don't wishes such compliments" from the croc.

It's surely Peter's youth and cockiness, the book says this about it:

"While Peter lived, the tortured man felt that he was a lion in a cage into which a sparrow had come"

Besides, they portray the everlasting battle between a grown up sense and a child's heart.

It is that, but also according to the book it is simply his cockiness. I guess the arrogance of youth... and Hook could not stand it. I'd have to look up the actual quote, but it does come right out and tell you that it's because he was cocky. Wendy found it at once irritating and endearing; Hook found it loathsome.

I don't know that the books ever said _why_ Hook is so obsessed with killing Peter, but I do know there are various fanfics out there that give at least some (understandable) explanation. You might try looking up Peter Pan in Kensington Garden (don't quote me on Kensington though, it might be a different word); that book might have a clear explanation of it.

I only just found this and I loved it - great video! :-D If it helps, in ''Peter and Wendy' J M Barrie says that the thing Hook really hates Peter for is his cockiness - it just gets right up his nose and drives him crazy. Great book if you get a chance to read it btw :-)

In the original novel by: JM Berry, Peter amputated (cut off) Hook's hand and he had to improvise with a prosthetic hook for a right hand and from that point on hook had his issues with Peter ever since.

ah, yes right! I believe Hook is trying Peter for both reasons; 1) because of his hand. Hook is not someone who easily forgive things. 2) he is jealous of Peter´s youth and innocence, like FairyCutie86 said in a comment.

Great video! Perfect song choice of course. You ask why Hook has such a strong desire to kill Peter, well, I shall explain (excuse my nerdiness---I've taken a whole class on Children's Literature this semester): It's all very psychological. Hook wants to kill Peter because Peter symbolizes eternal youth and boyhood, which Hook can never regain. In this way, Hook wants to kill Peter with the belief that by killing him he will regain his own lost innocence which one can never do.

I thought Hook wanted to kill Pan because he cut off his hand and fed it to a crocodile that now constantly haunts him. That's what I've always heard anyway. I can't say I blame him. I'd try to kill Pan too.

Well, that's part of it, but there is a deeper symbolic meaning to why Hook wants to kill Peter. It's one of those things that you can't really see in any of the movies. You have to read the book. The symbolic meaning of Peter is bascially life vs. death and childhood vs. adulthood.
