I had 10.0mmol/l 1 hour after dinner, and now 2 hours after dinner it is just down to 8.1... and i usually stay over 7 for quite some time... Yes, i do have a monitor at home, and caught these highs by accident the other day...

He probably got me about 1 month ago, but I wasn't diagnosed until a couple of days ago. And then my blood sugar was 30mmol/l :S Fighting it with insulin now, but also fighting my fear of needles :P But this video is so funny! Makes the whole thing feel more easy.

I am glad my friend saw my symtoms quite early. I did not need to stay in hospital even :) Now almost 4 days later, my blood sugar is getting better and better :) Insulin is winning this hehe 12mmol/l this morning! I am going to be more aggressive with the insulin today to try to go down to 6-8 or so. I have been taking it slowly to go down to normal blood sugar to not feel low when being high :P

My only concern was the 'In case of a diabetic coma' bit. I have type one diabetes, I'm a student nurse AND I'm a first aider who is actively on duty a lot (with St John Ambulance here in England) If someone is semi conscious or unconscious, please DON'T try to give them anything by mouth. If you know it's low blood sugar then try putting some honey or sugary jam in the inside of their cheek, call an ambulance and let the paramedics deal with it.

Diabetic coma is HIGH blood sugar. Insulin Shock is LOW blood sugar! You are a diabetic nurse and you don't know the correct terminology? Scary!!!!

That caught my attention, too. The video was funny but that is seriously wrong information there. If you give somebody in a diabetic coma anything with carbs you are going to make things worse. If they are in insulin shock then you should smear something on their gums/cheeks but if they are in a diabetic coma you should call an ambulance and inject insulin, if you know how to.

Diabetes man got me three years ago, starting with gestational and then becoming what we think is type 1.5 (LADA).
