I got so caught up in learning the youtube thing and recording my own versions of Mike's songs recently that I forgot to just sit back and listen to him play, I am humbled and reminded of my goals when I see Mike right here at his best. He was and still is the Master. A great performance.
I am not a guitarist, but I can sense, feel - that the guitar is more than instrument it is an expression of who he is. And, during these winter months - I love being taken back to when I was there witnessing his work, his playing, his dedication at NV - thank you.
just an amazing performance; it's great to see his early performances, before he had played the pieces 10,000 times; more raw, more total presence (and for Hedges that's saying a lot); and just awesome quality for video and sound
I got the same impression from his performances of Aerial Boundaries from around this time. It seemed like he had to put in more effort into his playing, a far cry from the seemingly effortless performances several years later.
