@dexty100 That's Andromeda and it isn't going to happen for another 2 billion years. Even when our two galaxies collide the empty space in between stars is so vast they will pass right through each other and their combined gravitational pull will form them into one galaxy made of the stars from both the Milky Way and Andromeda. Almost no stars will collide when this happens the bigger risk is having our star system thrown out into dark space or thrown in the heart of the new galaxy.
Wow what a trip! I want to get my telescope out now and try to find it! Probably too weak but still. I wish there was a video like this for every galaxy!
Imagine an alien living in that galaxy and looking a video on it's computer titled, zooming on the milky way galaxy. Of course they would probably have another name, but it's just awesome to think what could be out there, the universe is just amazing.
