Clearly the dog is playing a game and jumping for the treat... obviously he's nervous because its new but far better to distract him with a game until he's used to them. Do not judge someone from one video. the fact that they bought boots to protect his feet in the snow should comunicate that he is cared far.
@xoOnatalieOox The cruel part is that she is parading him about in them, he obviously doesn't like them. You can tell from the dog's body language that he is nervous and confused. What made me mad is that she is basically taunting him with the treat waving it in front of him but when he goes for it she takes it away. It wouldn't have bugged me so much if she had given him a treat for every time he came to her...... ://end rant
@RetroPigHunter based on the accents of the owner this dog is in Quebec and as you may not know this but the province of Quebec uses salt on their sidewalks and roads which will eat away at the animal
My god, you people take this too seriously. We all do things to our pets that make us laugh. Whether it's tossing a blanket over them, tossing a toy in the lake or putting little boots on. Get over it.
Mozart my BOSTON TERRIER is currently undergoing chemotherapy and on March 15, 2012, he's scheduled to recieve a life-saving canine bone marrow transplant at North Carolina State University!! The cost is 16,000 and I am trying to raise the money for my baby boy please help!
GO TO save-an-angel . org and click on the BMT program and click mozart.
This is just fecking stupid poor dog being teased with promise of food then only wagging his tail and walking around after food to please the owner all b`cos the selfish prat wanted to make a video.
Even though my video was pausing for long periods of time throughout the video, I STILL managed to laugh my self to tears! I NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD! A couple years ago, I purchased the same boots (in red) for my Babydoll (I posted the video as well) a while ago but it never got "published" until today. Babydoll behaves in the exact same manner. I put them on her when we go outside for walks in Utah. She LOVES to get dressed up for our adventures. VIDEO: "Anita & Babydoll at the Holiday Inn"
LOL! I considered these doggy boots for my Boston because the salt the town puts on the winter roads bothers her feet. Now I think I just continue to wash her after the walks.
parle en francais!! XD Il est mignon, le chien francais! I have two dogs one who only responds to English et l'autre ne comprend qu'en francais. It's adorable
First responsible vid I've seen of a dog being trained to wear boots. It was really nice to see an encouraging owner who wasn't so busy laughing hysterically that the dog ended up traumatized. Good job on protecting your dog's feet and helping him adjust to wearing the boots!
@noctoi Everyone laughs at their kids... what's the big deal? My dog starts jumping SO HIGH everytime we start laughing. I had NO IDEA when I spent $750 on dog boots that she would look funny when she started walking in them. The purpose of covering a dogs feet are to PROTECT THE BABIES FEET from stickers, HOT pavement, insect bites, glass etc. When she wants to go out, she piles her jacket, boots & collar at the door. If I don't walk barefoot on the filthy ground, why would my dog?
@ArleneRegos erm... OK... wow... I'm not sure why you are yelling at me. I was complimenting the person who posted this vid for being a responsible pet owner. I have seen vids where the owners had got their dogs into a state of flat out panic by pointing and laughing at their dogs. This owner has taken the time and self control to train their dog to wear the boots. The dog is happy, the owner is happy and amused. What's the problem?
Ok here's where your wrong, I didn't mean just snow in the winter, i meant snow ALL THE TIME in a region. Dogs that pull sleighs are adapted and trained to withstand snow therefore dont need shoes. My point in more detail as you can't get it in your head is that, people shouldn't put shoes on dogs which are domestic house dogs which occasionally go outside for walks. This video is clearly not for the dogs benefit in snow for fuck sake.. i don't know how much clearer i can be..
@RetroPigHunter All I know is that most domestic dogs don't have magical snow and salt withstanding fur and that boots are a very good way to keep them healthy during the winter. My dig didn't have problems with them, my neighbours' dogs didn't have problems with them, no dog I know had problems with them after getting used to them. How are they harming a dog? They are like condoms for the paws. The dogs just walk weird the first few times because they're not used to them.
@supermanwich23 Almost. I'm not new to the internet and sometimes like to say what's on my mind...
Anyway, I'm still not quite sure how one of his family members can be an dog therapy specialist, if he would rather see a dog have injured paws than having to get used to wearing boots.
Wait! What the hell am I doing? There's a dog video up there. WITH BOOTS!
@RetroPigHunter You really think the dog will mind after a few minutes walking around in the snow with shoes that were designed with the dog's benefit and comfort in mind. Do you put a collar on your dog? Gee, I hope so since it's preventative to the dog getting lost. "But the collar might bother the dog!" Well sure, until he gets used to it like EVERY DOG does. Compared to the boots which are a much more obvious and direct means for protection- I'd say this one's a no-brainer :P
@RetroPigHunter I'm betting you have no problem with spaying/neutering, though. "Don't put boots on the dog, but go ahead and render him/her sexless. No problem there because it's convenient for ME."
I'm not saying not to spay or neuter, I'm just pointing out how ridiculous your argument is. The fact is, we alter animals to suit our convenience, and putting little booties on a dog to keep his pads from getting injured/infected from salt in winter is hardly abuse, in fact it's the opposite.
@AbsentWithoutLeaving Ok just to get some things straight here, my parents breed dogs. Not for a living and not to over breed a dog. Just its natural capability. Now for the point of the argument which the other person couldn't see, I wasn't saying the boots are a bad thing to put on a dog, I was saying this video is blatantly made for people to laugh at the dog and the boots are not being used as they should. Those people probably bought them just to watch it walk funny. So I think its cruel.
@RetroPigHunter yeah or they wanted the dog to get used to them in the house first so that when they do take him outside he isn't blatantly laughed at... its not like the dog goes on youtube and checks out the comments on his video. and although his owner laughed a little you can tell by her voice that she is encouraging the dog and helping it to make the transition... Durh?

@EPR89 Well.. 1. there teasing the dog hence the way it barks and 2. it has fucking shoes on which it obviously doesn't like, so my point is if you don't know how to treat a dog then you shouldn't have one.
@RetroPigHunter You never had a dog, right? Otherwise you would know why they are useful and why it is a god idea to let the dog get used to wearing them.
@EPR89 Actually yes I have had a dog, still have one and a family member of mine specializes in dog therapy, its not natural for them to wear shoes as they have adapted legs and paws for hot, cold and wet conditions. if someone made you wear uncomfortable shoes that you couldn't take off i think you wouldn't like it so why make a helpless animal do it?
@RetroPigHunter So you don't live in a region with snow. That's good for your dog. If you lived in a region with snow you'd know what happens to dog paws. Either they get clumps of snow in between their toes, which is not only uncomfortable for a dog but also incredibly painful, or the salt people use to clear the streets does it's work.
I know that my dog accommodated to them easily and that they enabled him to run around during winter without limping for the rest of the day.
@EPR89 You obviously don't get my point then do you. The people didn't get the boots for the dog to walk better in the snow they did it for a laugh, thats why they have made a video which i think is cruel. Whatever, if you think there making the video to help the dog walk in the snow, which there more than likely isn't any, hence all the other videos on youtube of dogs walking in the boots. I wouldn't like it if i was a dog so Its just my opinion.
@RetroPigHunter So your argument is that I shouldn't get a dog if there is snow in the winter? Please go and watch some videos on what people who use dogs to pull sleighs do to their dogs. I'm giving you a hint: it has to do with boots and happy dogs. Those things are no trouble for dogs once they gotten used to them, which happens really quickly. My dog walked normal with them after maybe three to four days. He looked so miserable with his suddenly not hurting paws anymore...
@EPR89 Obviously, some people are TOO CHEAP to spend $175 on Doggie Boots! Just imagine... he would probably not think twice of allowing his kids to walk to shcool without shoes. The web sites which sell the boots explain EXACTLY how to allow your puppy to get accustomed to wearing them. Each set of boots/shoes come with EXPLICIT instructions on acclimating your dog to them & these people ARE following the instructions to a "T." My BT refuses all treats so it was much easier for us.
@RetroPigHunter DUMB QUESTION: YOU WRITE: " 1. there teasing the ..." Did you ever attend the 2nd grade? I am a foreigner and I know the difference between "THERE, THEIR & THEY'RE." Do you have any idea how ignorant you sound? Do yourself a favor, pick up a 2nd grade English book.
@ArleneRegos No you do me a favor, shut the fuck up and get your own language you piece of shit. Its called informal writing, it doesn't have to be spelt correctly. Its not a law to spell things right dumb ass...
@Nuorikko2 What king of dog do you have ? My Boston Terrier also suffer of freezing... He don't like very much going outside in winter. We are living in Québec, Canada, where winters are also cold.
On promènera seulement notre épagneul anglais...
Trust me, he'll get used to them. And he needs them. I'm not sure where in Canada he's from (French speaking just means . . . well, most of us speak french), when winter comes, and there's salt of the roads and sidewalks, he'll need them. Frostbitten, cracked paws arte NOT FUN
Longue vie à votre compagnon parmi votre famille !
@choopsaii - I know... what an idiot ! Just because that person can't read French does NOT MEAN that the French can't read English. Besides, the Canadians are able to comment on the dummies who are argueing about dog boots without them knowing it! The people who made this video are more concerned about the health and welfare of their dog which is WHY THEY SPENT THE $175 on the damn boots. BTW: Who said people in other countries can use the internet?
Adorable.

@Hubannick spanish water dog. She don't have that short fur near of her skin to warm. Only soft, long fur :( Is Boston Terrier like same?
When its something like -1C to -6C she will be fine, and actually likes to play in snow! But not for too long, of course, heh ^^

@Hubannick

@Hubannick
On promènera seulement notre épagneul anglais...

@whatyasaying16 i know but here (canada) winter is very cold... :-(
Hubannick 4 months ago 3
@whatyasaying16
Gryzabell 3 months ago
@whatyasaying16 snow can hurt the dogs feet and the salt can cause them to bleed. so actually the boots are extremely nice to the dog.

Longue vie à votre compagnon parmi votre famille !

why is everyone talkin in another language??
gabs6597 4 months ago
@gabs6597 Probably 'cause English isn't the only language out there?
choopsaii 4 months ago 17
@choopsaii - I know... what an idiot ! Just because that person can't read French does NOT MEAN that the French can't read English. Besides, the Canadians are able to comment on the dummies who are argueing about dog boots without them knowing it! The people who made this video are more concerned about the health and welfare of their dog which is WHY THEY SPENT THE $175 on the damn boots. BTW: Who said people in other countries can use the internet?
ArleneRegos 1 month ago
@gabs6597 Why not ? :-) All people over the world can comments in their language :-)

geenie98 1 year ago
