I saw this run yesterday (30/4/11) in the toyo tyre races at brands. I was working for KJI motorsport looking after serverware racings m3. The civic looks great, really well made! looked pretty quick as well! where did you guys finish in your class?
We got 3rd and 5th1

@Yamezpdm Hi, thanks for the compliment, the Serverware M3 looked pretty tidy too.
We finished 1st in class (race one), but unfortunately the clutch slave cylinder failed in the second to last lap in race two and I retired to investigate.
Our first DNF in 3 years.
This was the third race meeting for the car and was freshly built for Project 8 Saloons (aka. Toyo Tires Rascing Saloons). Seems to be very quick in class and hoping for another overall win this year.

that is a grate project. i wish i could do a project like that. are you setting it up to run E85 fuel? that would be good car to promote E85.

Where are you attending?
It should be a class leading car when finished, we won the class last year with a stock AE92 Corolla.
It'll be using a B16A2 engine, stock for the minute, but soon getting full race treatment.

I'm at Warwickshire College, we're currently working on a Robin Hood kit car, running a 2.0 Pinto engine, with next to nothing in the budget. Eventually we will go testing, and then hopefully make ammendments, depending on the budget, but, we wont ever see if its competative, which is what i really want.
do the guys get to do all of the welding and designing that went in to the cage? Does east surrey offer any degree courses in motorsport?

Its a Btec Nat Dip course being run at East Surrey College. Im the Project Unit Lecturer and am the one finacing the build. Colleg wont pay for it, despite us (the college & me driving) winning our class last year.
Unfortunately it a common problem, project funding has always been low.
