Resposta ao Tiago: egoismo, individualismo... etc., Jung propõe o Processo de Individuação, ou seja, a única saída do indivíduo deixar o egoísmo é colocando a consciência no Self. Porém, é um processo, e até que nível ele mesmo tenha alcançado, pouco sabemos. Mas, com certeza, foi um dos grandes gênios do século XX.

Carl Jung has been writing many interesting things.I like his ways of describing the person as consisting of many layers,the persona(the mask),anima ,animus,the shadow part,the hero and the self. I think the ideas about the self is most fascinating.I really like what i have read with this person.

para uma pensoa que se nomeia sensato, esperaria um comentario mais "sensato". Procure se informar mais cara, a psicologia é a ciencia do comportamento, certo que ela ainda está engatinhando, mas ela ja analisou e comprovou muitos comportamentos e teorias por métodos cientificos ( mensuração, análise, testes, etc).

@mumiaslokas A psicanálise é grandemente influenciada pela filosofia, mas também ela, por sustentar cientificamente alguns comportamentos humanos, deu um grande contributo à filosofia e confirmou teses filosóficas anteriormente formuladas, como as de Max Stirner, por exemplo.

"Philosopher", "psicologists", etc. Names we give in our culture to differentes ways of Knowledge. But parts of knowledge is not knowledge... are only parts. Knowledge is a practical whole, and to get practical we need a theory that can be apply. All of this is only elucidations, good elucidations, onteresting elucidations. The seek of knowledge is an individual task, and individuals are part of a collective.

Base científica... É perigoso isso de tentar enquadrar fenômenos dentro dos "dogmas" científicos. Às vezes algumas partes do fenômeno não podem ser enquadradas, mas isso acaba sendo esquecido pq a maior parte foi.

Typical western thinking. Individuality is everything and is above the community/society! The great eastern thinkers realized centuries ago that striving towards the "nullification" of self is the only way to happiness. Western "thinkers" still don't get it and will likely never will.

As a footnote, don't take Jung too seriously. He is known to have made serious mistakes.

Well your omniscience is by all means striking! Fist of all Jung is not a philosopher (though he probably had a thorough grasp of the matter), he is a psychologist. Thinkers work with ideas, Jung spent his life amongst people, caring for them, learning from them, healing them. Your great ideologists spent their existence among abstract concepts...It's common sense to believe that he had a more valid grasp of the soul's needs. Your speculation is poorly sustained.

You should read up more on what he discovered, you might just find that you agree with a lot of what he found. I want to add to what DesHermies said. Chanakya, a community/society is not one thing--it is a collection of INDIVIDUALS. No matter how many groups you belong to, how many gurus you listen to, or how long you sit and breathe and attempt to dissolve into the void--you are still doing that INDIVIDUALLY, on your own. *And they meant clearing of ego, not dissipation of the soul.

You have mentioned "great eastern thinkers". Where can I find some kind of "list" of them? I study philosophy and don't like this cultural and geographical divison.
