  • :( I have to wait untill my birthday in April before I get an Acela :(

  • Nice HHP-8 you have, I love that horn sounds just like the prototype HHP-8.

  • What type of horn on the HHP8 is that? Is it a Nathan or something? What make and model of this horn is it? PLEASE respond!

  • @james1234434 - Hey, I'm not really sure about the horn. I don't have the engine anymore, so I really couldn't give it a good listen. Sorry

  • @james1234434 It's a split manifold Nathan K5 horn. Similar to a K5LA

  • @james1234434 The horn is a HYBRID Nathan K5la! Designed a bit different sounding than the traditional Nathan K5la!

  • @james1234434 it is a Nathan K5LA

  • loooovve this video

  • Lionel wheel are big

  • Very beautiful set. The 21st Century Electric locomitve now replacing the classic AEM-7. The brown F-7 AB diesel units, a farewell to steam engines, hauling a streamlined passenger, makes me remind THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS TRAIN, inmortalized in a country song. Also interesting the NS intermodal freight contemporary diesel units, in this case. SD70A hauling automobile carrier cars, containers and piggyback trailers in their platforms. A set so alive as real models.

  • Great Layout.........Love all the detail!!!!

  • what kind of track is that? that isnt standard O gauge is it? there are to many planks?

  • @cannon13200 - it's regular O gauge. The track is made by gargraves. Looks a little different than the Lionel tinplate track, but it;s still O Gauge

  • I love NS SD70ACe's! And Amtrak HHP-8's! Two favorite trains in one video! Good job!

  • @CookiesAndGuns95 - thanks!

  • i got this set already on christmas eve on friday 2010

  • Did M.T.H. make the 2 Norfolk Southern Diesels in the backround at O:28 and what kind of Diesels were they?

  • @randomstuff1282 - Yes, they are both MTH. Premier SD70M-2

  • @randomstuff1282 either SD70's or 80's

  • @randomstuff128 Are the sounds diesel or is the train actually running on diesel?

  • @abm92296 - the train runs on electric. the diesel sound is a sound system

  • what scale is this? Nice Set by the way!

  • @TheDylanJoyce - It's O gauge

  • well done! great video

  • @mcrrocks80 - thanks!

  • @lorimersnd is this your set?

  • @mcrrocks80 - yes, it's my Amtrak set

  • @lorimersnd I saw like three HHP-8 sets go by. Do you friends have them too, or do you own all of them?

  • @CookiesAndGuns95 - 2 of the sets are mine & one belongs to a buddy of mine

  • Is it Legacy?

  • @traindude390 - nope, just regular TMCC

  • WOW!! They even got the horn right for the Banana, a Canadian-tuned K-5LH. Very very nice. Those IC F-units look great, too. I would have loved to take my Lionel Reading T-1 4-8-4 and Williams coaches down there to join those beautiful units.

  • dous the amtrak train come whith more cars or can u buy theme seppret

  • @buzzy99group - The set comes w/ 3 cars. Lionel just cataloged 3 extra cars for the set

  • those are sd70ace's not sd70ms

  • The distorted images look like Thomas the tank engines.

  • Is the steam loco from the "Harry Potter" set or is it a real production set from Dapol or Hornby or one of those bigger companies?

  • It's the Harry Potter steam engine

  • Very impressive layout. Lionel certainly has come a long way in the last thirty years.

  • If only they can fix their quality control issues!

  • The Ghost and the Darkness!

  • Too bad the lights are out on such an exspesive set though it still works better then the Lionel Acela.

  • Beautiful set. What is the brown set I see there? Says, something central, couldn't read it though. And what namebrand/ type of track is this? Thanks, nice vid btw

  • The brown set is the Illinois Central F3 set from 1985. All the track is gargraves & the switches are by Ross

  • Thanks

  • Nice job! Great video!

I am thinking about getting this set.

Q- is the set more "scale" like MTH premiere or more like Railking? The loco looks pretty scale but it's hard to tell in regards to the cars.

    Thanks for your opinion.

    Roundsaturn31

  • The cars are just a tad short, but the engine looks really nice. Just an FYI, the lights in 2 of my cars dont work & from what I understand, other people have had problems w/ the car lights

  • I'm assuming this is a permeate display? Where is this located?

  • Lakewood, NJ. It's the Ocean County Society of Model Railroaders

  • Really sweet set... and even nicer that you get to bring it to a layout like this to stretch it's legs... very cool

  • the set is pretty cool. It would be nice if 2 of the cars didn't come w/ broken lights!

  • Stack train looks great.... Aren't they your cars?

  • Some of them are mine. The rest are yours.

  • cool amtrak set wish I had it
