  • It doesn't say anywhere in the Bible that condom use is sinful. Song of Solomon is a book largely about sex for pleasure. When people have personal sentiments and then use their priestly pulpits to throw them around from, that is whats wrong. The Vatican has very little to do with Jesus and so, it is a functional organisation of uselessness.

  • A functional man of reason.

  • What about using the term "creative power" instead of God; do you think that makes any difference to people? After all we tend to have a picture or ideal in our mind when thinking of or discussing God

  • @jrsample0425:

    Exactly.

  • Society of Ethical Culture (Sam Harris part 1)

  • at 4:51 you see him go "seriously? they didn't laugh at that?".

  • @GoHiltyGo Why would they? He was not making a joke.

  • Needs more then 7 thousand views. This is the information that will save us from ourselves

  • Sam Harris for President!

  • @ANTLV360 Seriously! I really want to have a secular president.

  • JFlower, you can't have evidence for or disprove the non-existance of something. It is enough to say that you don't see it anywhere you look. It is a believer's responsibility to show evidence for his existance. I have no evidence that there are no invisible pink dragons living in my attic, but I can assume they aren't there because they've never been seen. Just because your brain is capable of imagining a diety doesn't make him real.

  • But there's only one god and Mohammed(may the grave close coldy around him) is his Prophet, right?

  • There is no evidence that invisable pink unicorns didnt create the universe. Prove me wrong.

  • @jflower36 How about a break your legs?

  • An atheist would say, 'I don't believe God exists'; an agnostic would say, 'I don't know whether or not God exists'; and an ignostic would say, 'I don't know what you mean when you say, "God exists" '. A coherent definition of "God" must be presented before the question of the existence of "God" can be meaningfully discussed

  • I'm an agnostic atheist. I don't believe in a god, but the ultimate veracity of my belief I don't believe can ever be known.

  • Wow, talk about missing the point. I didn't realize that C-Span was supposed to be exciting.

  • Lubbercus, let us know when you've stopped being an imbecile.

  • Narwal, you seem to be a reasonable guy, I don't understand why do you have to call me names. Do you feel better by this? Have you promoted the right cause any inch further by calling me an imbecile?

  • Lubbercus, I've totally forgotten why I called you an imbecile. But judging by the fact that you removed your own comments, it seems to me that you would agree.

  • Bravo! This is the primary reason Religion-not God- has done nothing for the African-American communities across the country.

  • This is misleading.

He's right, there is "an over-arching taboo around criticizing religious faith" just as there is an equal over-arching taboo around criticizing peoples sexual practices (my proof? witness the double digit thumbs down -->) because the Catholic missionaries teach abstinence BECAUSE they believe condom use is interfering with god's will; and with abstinence there would be NO sexual spread of aids.

  • If you can`t get his point. Your an "IDIOT" (look it up)

  • He was great in Zoolander too. lol

  • true that

  • That's not Ben Stiller, it's his genetically engineered offspring (the other chromosomes were Seth Green's).

  • Thanks for posting, I think Sam makes the best points out of the Four Horsemen.

  • Me too. Leaves out the cynicism too

  • psychowabbit...I don't know about that! Sam Harris is the most eloquent of the 4 but i've watched every Dawkins video and HItchens video and Dawkins is not only the pioneer, he laid the groundwork, he was the giant that Harris stood on the shoulders of! I just have so much respect for Dawkins...on a side note...in that 4 horsemen video...what was with Hitchens saying he doesn't wish for religion to be abolished!?? Even Dawkins was baffled! Hitchens said he likes to debate and because of that???

  • I really like the points Sam makes on spirituality and just how he makes his points. but yes I love listening to Richard too and chris...dan kinda bores me at times, but he's still a great man to have on our side. And yeah I don't get Christopher not wanting religion to go away, maybe he had one too many Scotches by the end of the talk :P

  • He makes some great points about Buddhism in this talk.
