If he actually does revert Bush Co. legislation (Patriot Act 1-2, Military Commissions Act, etc), I'll give him props, He'll have earned my respect. If the past says anything about the future - it won't happen. Meaning, once it's gone - it tends to stay that way.

In Australia we recently dismissed a long standing conservative govt which got us invloved in the extremely unpopular war in Iraq. The Labor government, which also wants to get out of the quagmire, will find a much more agreeable ally in the new Democratic administration.

We are not "fighting" (if you don't get the difference you don't get our politics), and since you want to be pendantic, the election was not over a year ago. After suffering more than a decade of conservative rule, a year ago is "recently" (which after all is a relative term).

Once again, it has not been over a year, this this a simple fact go check the date. Secondly they were elected on a promise to withdraw from Iraq. They "kept" this promise by withdrawing all combat troops from Iraq, while saving Bush's face a bit. We call this 'politics.'
